(CPK's POV)

"...was that a bird...?"

The brunette spoke, after a silence so awkward that it felt like forever.

"Looked like it, eh? Pretty big one though-"

"-YEP! YuH-hUh. Just- just a Big Ol'.. Pesky Bird.. heh..."

...damn, I'm really good at making things awkward, aren't i?

I Quickly tried to salvage this interaction with a simple question, hoping to use it as my scapegoat.

"*Ehem..* ..so, um.. What brings you two back so soon? I mean surely you didn't enjoy my theatrics that much, did you?"

"Oh, no. I just needed a Boat, we don't have any."

The Brunette perked up, however the Blonde was still seemingly trying to measure the size of the bird in his head. Or- well.. 'Bird'.. I guess...

"Oh, Right! I would've given you the Boat-pass but you got stOlen by the Herons.. You alright by the way?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. Tougher than I look, ya' kno..."

Before I knew it, I was lost in my own head again. Lost in my thoughts, the thoughts that He planted there...

...I tell myself Again and Again that I won't let him get to me, and then the next time he comes around, he manages to get to me! It's infuriating!!

...All I wanted was to get into the Herons... was that too much to ask...? And now here i am, stuck like some Fish In A Birdcage-

"-CPK? You there?"

I jumped, realising that I'd managed to zone out for.. Not long, actually. Phew.

"Yes, Yes. I'm quite alright Owen. no need to worry."

"You sure? You seem... i 'dunno, Shaken?"

"Probably because of the massive bird he was face-to-face with! Seriously, it looked- like- 5 feet tall!!!"

[...he's probably shorter than that, honestly.]

"Indeed, it was quite a freight.. Now, how say i give Owen this here Boat-Pass, and you stop querying about the abnormal size of the Birds here, Hm?"

I offered, holding out the pass like some sort of bribe.

The pass was a greyish colour with a fancy gold trim lining the edges in a swirly pattern. Waves were drawn across the bottom in a darker grey, with dark grey seaweed and bubbles to match. On the left side was a drawing of a ship, and next to it were the words

'Sloop pass, The best boat beginners can bargain!' in the same deep grey as the Oceanic accents. I always thought they were a bit cheesy... especially since the Boat that it lets you own technically wasn't a Sloop, it was more of a Jolly boat sized vessel.

Underneath the so-called 'Sloop' pass, I held a turquoise and blue slip of the same size. This was the 'Passenger-Pass' for the Heron's main Galleon ship. It's the ship used for Main, Crew-Wide expeditions. Every faction has their own! Along with a designated Captain and Deck-Hand (the person who helps with the Sails and can also serve as co-captain when the Captain isn't present). The slip I'm holding just represents the status of Being Allowed on Board and Nothing else.
