"How long does your ideal hug last?"

Your favorite show is playing, but you're not really paying attention. Your mind is occupied with the feeling of Loki's arm around your waist, his breath slightly stirring your hair with every exhale or word.

The couch isn't the most comfortable, though neither of you particularly care. He'll have to go back to Asgard soon, so you're both spending all possible time together.

Not usually one for hugs, he makes exceptions for you. Which might be why he asked the question.

"Thirty to forty minutes," you respond, holding back a smirk when he jolts slightly.

"That's a bit impractical-"

"You said ideal, not realistic."

He remains silent for a moment, thinking about his answer before he speaks.

"True, but wouldn't it count as cuddling then?"

You shrug slightly, not wanting to move him around too much. "Maybe."

You're quiet for a moment, before you ask, "What about you?"

"Pardon?"

"How long would yours be?"

"Hm, well that depends. I don't particularly enjoy hugs or cuddles, but it's different with you. So, I suppose any amount of time is ok with me. Whatever you desire."

You can feel your face going slightly red at the affection in his voice. Is this really the God of Mischief, cuddling on your couch and speaking kindly and softly in your ear?

Yes, it is, but It's also Loki Odinson, kind, soft, beloved of your heart.

I love you.

And the way he tightens his grip, and presses his head against yours, tells you the same.
