After her morning classes, Bella followed Jessica to the cafeteria where they were joined by Mike. After grabbing their food, the three made their way over to a table where the blonde boy pulled out a seat for Bella and then took the one next to her.

Eric looked at Mike, "Hey Mikey, you met my home girl Bella."

Mike scoffed out a laugh, "Your home girl?"

Tyler came up in between Mike and Bella and gave the new girl a kiss on the cheek, "My girl." He declared before he stole the chair out from under Mike

Jessica scoffed her chair closer to the new girl "Oh my God." She laughed, "It's first grade all over again, and you're the shiny new toy."

Bella smiled awkwardly at the girl.

"Smile!" Angela sang as she appeared and blinded Bella with a snapshot

The Swan girl blinked, clearing her eyeballs.

Angela lowered her camera, "Sorry, needed a candid for the feature—"

"Feature's dead, Angela. Don't bring it up again." Eric snapped as he got up from the table, however, before he left, he knelt down to Bella's height, "I got your back, baby." He told her with a softer tone before leaving

The bespectacled teen sighed disappointedly, "Guess we'll just run another editorial on teen drinking."

Bella looked down at her food, "You could always go for eating disorders, or Speedo padding on the swim team." She suggested

Angela smiled one excitement, "Actually, that's a good one."

She and Jessica start talking but Bella's attention goes to the windows.

Bella leaned in closer to Jessica and Angela, "Who are they?" She asked

The yearbook editor smiled, "The Cullens." She said softly, already knowing who the new girl was talking about

The five Cullen kids didn't look anything alike. One was big — muscled like a serious weight lifter, with dark, curly hair. One was taller, leaner, but still muscular, and honey blond. One was lanky, less bulky, with untidy, bronze-colored hair. One was statuesque. She had a beautiful figure, the kind you saw on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, the kind that made every girl around her take a hit on her self-esteem just by being in the same room. Her hair was golden, gently waving to the middle of her back. One was pixielike, thin in the extreme, with small features. Her hair was a deep black, cropped short and pointing in every direction.

"Which ones are the Cullens?" Bella asked, "They don't look related…"

"They're not." Jessica leaned in, swinging into gossip mode, "Dr. Cullen is really young, in his twenties or early thirties. They're all adopted. The Hales are brother and sister, twins — the blondes — and they're foster children."

Bella tilted her head, "They look a little old for foster children."

"They are now, Jasper and Rosalie are both eighteen, but they've been with Mrs. Cullen since they were eight. She's their aunt or something like that." Jessica explained

Angela then joined the conversation, "They moved down here from Alaska a few years ago. They kinda keep to themselves."

The gossip Queen nodded, "Yeah cause they're all together. Like, together together."

The three girls watched as Rosalie and Emmett passed their table, "The blonde girl, that's Rosalie, and the big dark-haired guy, Emmett, they're like a thing. I'm not even sure that's legal." Jessica told Bella

"Jess, they're not actually related." Angela said

"Yeah, but they live together. It's weird." The gossiping girl said and then lowered her voice, "And the little dark haired girl, Alice, she's really weird. She's with Jasper, the blonde who looks like he's in pain." She whispered as the couple passed their table

"Dr. Cullen's like this foster dad slash match maker." Jessica said, "He apparently only picks gorgeous kids."

Angela giggled at what her friend had said, "Maybe he'll adopt me." She joked

Bella laughed at Angela and then she saw the last Cullen enter the cafeteria, "Who's he?" She asked

Jessica sighed dreamily, "That's Edward Cullen. He's totally gorgeous, obviously. But apparently, no one here is good enough for him. There's a sixth Cullen who I'm pretty sure Edward is with but she's homeschooled for some reason."

Bella furrowed her eyebrows. How would Jessica know there's another Cullen who's homeschooled?

"Dr. Cullen talks about his family at the hospital, which is how everyone knows about the other girl." The Stanley girl said, answering Bella's unasked question

"I think her name is Helena. Or something close to it, according to my mom. She works with Dr. Cullen." Angela added

Suddenly, Edward looked over, as if he heard the girls from across the room. Which was odd. Nobody could hear across rooms. His eyes met Bella's and she quickly looked away.

"They are… very nice-looking." Bella understated

"Yes!" Angela and Jessica all agreed with a giggle

"Like I care." Jessica said, referring Edward nor giving anyone, namely her, the time of day, "Anyway, don't waste your time."

Bella shook her head, "I wasn't planning on it."

Little did she know how wrong she was.
