4. Everything Changed

2019.

"P'Pond" Phuwin knocks on Pond's front door. The door was unlocked soon after. Pond was surrounded by boxes and suitcases around him.

"Phuwin? What are you doing here?" Pond steps out the front door. His parents packing the suitcases and everything into the car.

"I'm here..to see you off. And give you this" Phuwin passes him a bracelet. His (Phuwin's) initial on it. Pond lets Phuwin help him wear it on his wrist.

"Promise me you won't forget me? No matter what?" Phuwin asks, his head hung low.

"Of course. I would never forget you. I promise" Pond hugs Phuwin, his heart thumping in sync with Phuwin's.

"Goodbye" Phuwin whispers.

Pond nods, grabbing his final suitcase and shoves it into the trunk. "We'll still be in contact, I promise." Pond hugs Phuwin again. Last hug. Last touch.

"Thank you for appearing in my life. And being born so I can love you." Pond says before walking away into the car. He hops in and waves goodbye to Phuwin.

The car started to move. Getting smaller and smaller till it disappeared in Phuwin's vision. Thunder rumbles, rain pours down on Phuwin. He breaks down into tears, the rain pouring on him as if that's his emotions. His heart aches, the memories of Pond swirled in his thoughts.

"Phi! What are you doing!?" Gemini runs to Phuwin, covering him with the umbrella together.

Gemini hugs Phuwin to comfort him, wetting Gemini's clothes.
"It's ok.. he'll text you remember?" Gemini reminds him. Patting Phuwin's back.

"I know but I just.." Phuwin hugs Gemini tighter, his face burying in Gemini's neck. The rain around them pours harder. As if it's mocking Phuwin's emotions.

"Let's go home first ok?" Gemini leads Phuwin to his house. Gemini unlocks the front door and steps into it. They were dripping wet from the rain.

"You can use my bathroom, go refresh yourself first. I'll get you some beer if you'd like" Gemini suggests.

Phuwin silently nods. He looks like he's dead inside when he walks upstairs to Gemini's room.

"Oh! Gem!" Mae Ning (Gemini's mother) came out from the kitchen. "What's with Nong Phuwin?" She asks worriedly.

"Oh P'Pond moved to Bangkok and complicated stuff you know?" Gemini explains, "I feel so bad for him" he sighs.

"oh..aren't you gonna tell him about you moving to Bangkok too?" Mae Ning asks, the spatula in her hand moving as she hand gestures.

"Mae! He can't know first especially at...this state.." Gemini huffs. His emotions are mixed and pressured.

"Okok take your time. Don't put so much on his plate na." Mae Ning places a reassuring hand on Gemini's shoulder.

"Ahh.. Mae help me grab two cans of beer na" Gemini reminds.

"Oh ok just don't drink too much. Ok?" Mae Ning goes to the kitchen and grabs two cans of beer like Gemini requested. She walks out to pass the beer then continues her work in the kitchen.

"Thanks Mae!" Gemini calls out and rushes upstairs to check on Phuwin.
"Your beer is here" Gemini opens the door slowly. He walks to the bathroom door. "May I come in?" Gemini asks for permission first.

"sure.." Phuwin whispers, his voice flat and dead.

Gemini walks in with a smile, Phuwin was in the bathtub, zoning out. He kneels beside the bathtub and opens one of the can beer for Phuwin.

Phuwin forces a smile as he receives the beer. He gulps it half in one go.

"Damn you're fucked up." Gemini whistles. His hand patting Phuwin's back.

"I know. It's too much to handle I can't.." Phuwin threw his head back. His eyes shut.

"Take your time to think ok? He'll text you. Definitely." Gemini smiles.

"Actually..I-" Gemini's smile faded. He looks down to the floor.

"You what Gem? Tell me!" Phuwin was desperate. He shakes Gemini with both his arms. He was at the state of mental breakdown. He was broken mentally.
"Please tell me" Phuwin desperately cried out.

"I..I'm moving to Bangkok too. I'm chosen for one of the stars in GMMTV.." Gemini finally looks up. He could see the hurt inside Phuwin's eyes.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner.?" Phuwin falls back onto the bathtub. His back hitting the marbled inner wall but at this state he couldn't even feel pain.

"I'm sorry, I just didn't want to ruin your happiness and everything. I'm so sorry" Gemini apologizes again.

"Why does the people I love always leave me? My parents, P'Pond and now you? Why?" Phuwin slaps himself. The water splashing as he rises his hand out.

"Calm down Phi! It's not your fault. I promise I'll definitely message you and be in contact. I promise." Gemini stops Phuwin by grabbing his wrists.

Phuwin turns to look at Gemini, tears and hurt filling his eyes. "It's not about that. I'm alone and I'll always be" Phuwin hits himself.

"Stop! Please..." Gemini begs desperately. Even himself is crying. "I'm sorry." Gemini apologizes again.

"When are you leaving?" Phuwin whispers.

"Tomorrow. I requested for tomorrow because I wanted to tell you" Gemini spoke, his voice barely above a whisper.

Phuwin finishes his beer and threw it aside. His tears uncontrollably rolled down his cheeks.

"Please..don't blame yourself. And take care of yourself. please?" Gemini begs. His voice cracking.

Phuwin sighs, he's tired. He's exhausted. He's mentally exhausted. Today was too much for him, too much to handle at once. First P'Pond and now Gemini?

Gemini gave him some space and went to unwind himself. Phuwin had hard time sleeping, he ended up crying himself to sleep.

They slept in different rooms until the next morning.

Gemini left early for Bangkok and said goodbye to Phuwin. That last goodbye was heartbreaking for both of them.

Gemini left for Bangkok and never looked back.

One day, Gemini suddenly dialed Phuwin's number at an unusual timing.
