Two Shots part 2

Third person's P.O.V:

The two were now walking home as Maya continued to speak to Shuichi about her feelings while Flurry sleeps soundly on her left shoulder, "All this time, You didn't know?" As they walked beside the road, Shuichi kept his eyes forward.

But he still acknowledged what was around him, which was clear as he says to Maya, "Listen, You should really go home." The disappearances were getting worse, and with finding out demons were involved, he now had another reason to make Maya leave him alone - he didn't want her to be the next victim.

But Maya wasn't going to leave yet as she says, "But you haven't responded to what I said. I've psyched myself up for this talk, So I can handle either answer. Just tell me how you feel." But the air was filled with silence.

Shuichi knows that what Maya was now experiencing was unrequited love, for he does care for the girl, who he befriended thanks to the encouragement of Juleka to get him to socialize with others and not just herself, but he doesn't love her.

He didn't know how to voice this politely to the girl, but he tries, as he is imagining Juleka looking at him pointedly to say that he should try and that ignoring the situation would be rude and get worse, "I'm very sorry, Maya..."

Maya stops, realizing that he doesn't love her back and is going to reject her. She hangs her head low with a sad & understanding expression as she says, "Alright then." Flurry lightly wakes up due to her lightly heartbroken aura and purred in concern for the girl, "I'll be okay, Flurry." She assures her.

Maya turns to go the opposite direction as him and says, "See ya." And just as she was about to leave, Shuichi senses a dangerous demon nearby, making him gasp before rushing over to Maya and grab her.

She looks at him with tears in shock for him to say with urgency in his voice as he was afraid to lose a friend, "Stay near me!" He was in a protective stance and high on alert. Even Flurry seemed on high alert as she hisses like a cat.

'How did someone sneak up on me like that? We seem evenly matched. Unless...' He thinks to himself before he senses the demon about to attack, causing him to carry Maya, Holding Flurry, and jump away as something crashes down where they once were.

Shuichi skids to a halt and faces his attacker to see a smaller male with black gravity defying hair dressed in a black cloak, white scarf and belt to keep a hold of the sheath for the katana that resides in the males right hand.

"At least you can dodge well." The unknown demon says as he keeps his gaze on the red head he tried to kill, while Flurry rambled angerly at the stranger of such a rude action.

Shuichi keeps his glare on him whilst checking on the confused girl in his arms, "Are you okay?" To which earns him a nod then she asks, "Are you okay, Shuichi?" Then asks another question as she looks at Flurry "And why is Flurry so agitated with that guy?" This answer makes Shuichi interrupt her, "Now is neither the time nor the place."

The unknown demon takes this as an opportunity to leap and attack, causing Shuichi to drop Maya and use his demon energy to manipulate a small weak leaf into a strong sword so he can block and fight back.
