THIS TAKES PLACE BEFORE THE EVENTS OF THE STORY AND IS DONE SO IN THIRD PERSON
Indiana buried her face in her hands. On the desk in front of her was a mess of papers and flyers. "Fuck, fuck, fuck!" She shouted, the words falling on deaf ears in the empty classroom. No one but me to see my meltdown, She thought.
She forced herself to get up, her thirst betraying her emotions. She slipped her hands in her pockets with a sigh as she walked to the cafeteria. The halls were quiet, nothing but the faint buzz of the blinding ceiling lights emitting any sound. She walked into a hall off the cafeteria and up to the vending machine. Her eyes scanned over the choices before picking a sprite. The can fell out of the machine with a sharp thud, She reached in to grab it when a voice caught her attention.
"Hey! Quit it!" What seemed like a female voice came from near the cafeteria. She was gonna shrug it off but it came back. "Ow! That hurts, let go!" Okay now if she ignored it she would just be an bitch.
Rounding the corner, she peeked over to notice where the voice was coming from. A girl, one she didn't recognize, was being hassled by some upperclassmen. They pulled on her black hair and messed with her. What assholes... She thought to herself.
"Hey, what the fuck is your problem?" Indiana spoke, stepping into the room and making her presence known. One of the two guys glanced at her with an amused smirk.
"None of your business, dolly," he stated with a shrug, "keep walking." She sighed irritably. Great, so it's gonna be one of THOSE days.
After making her presence known, and teaching the guys enough of a lesson, they left the room. Indiana glanced at the girl on the floor, noting a few bruises on her arms. She sighed and knelt next to her, placing her soda can on one of her injuries to help.
"Hey, I'm Indiana," She said.
Her eyes misty with unshed tears, she spoke to her. "A-Anne. Anne Suzuki."
