Cameron groaned as she drifted back into consciousness, her entire body aching like she had been run over. A dull throb pulsed at the back of her skull, the remnants of a brutal blow.

She blinked, trying to clear the fog from her vision, but the sharp clarity of her situation slammed into her like a wave. The memory hit her at once: the feeling of something blunt crashing against her head. She flinched involuntarily at the phantom pain, and her breath hitched.

"Oh, shit." The words escaped her in a low, breathless mutter as fear began to bubble up from her chest.

She instinctively tried to move, but her body wouldn't obey. Something cold and hard bit into her wrists. Panic rose in her throat as she glanced up to see her hands chained above her head, the metal tight, cutting into her skin with every slight movement.

Her feet were bound together hastily, causing her to stumble slightly, her weight precariously balanced as her back pressed flat against a wooden board.

Her sweater had ridden up past her belly button, exposing her midriff to the biting cold air of the room, adding an extra layer of vulnerability to the terror now coursing through her veins.

She tugged harder against the chains, her muscles straining with effort, but it was no use. She was completely stuck. Trapped.

Frantically, Cameron's eyes darted around the dimly lit room, searching for any sign of escape, any sliver of hope.

Her vision was blurry, the weak light from flickering spotlights casting eerie shadows across the space. But then, through the haze, she saw him—Chris—on the other side of a tall, rusted chain-link fence that stretched all the way up to the ceiling, separating them.

"Fuck, Chris!" She screamed, her voice cracking with desperation as she watched him whip around, his eyes wide with confusion and fear.

The spotlights suddenly flared brighter, illuminating the room more clearly, and Chris stumbled forward, his face pale and drawn.

He looked at her, his mouth moving as if to call her name, but the pounding in her ears drowned out his words. Her heart was racing too fast, her thoughts spiraling too quickly for her to process anything except the suffocating fear constricting her chest.

Then, something worse. Something much worse.

Cameron's gaze slid to either side of her, and a strangled scream tore from her throat as she spotted Ashley and Josh, both bound and chained just like her.

They hung limply, their bodies restrained by the same cruel chains that trapped her. They hadn't woken yet.

"No, no, no!" Cameron's scream ripped through the air as her body convulsed with the need to do something. But what could she do? Every attempt to move only made the chains dig deeper into her skin, making her wrists burn.
