When Ridam's mother was taking her to the market, her mother died due to firing by people involved in the riots. Ridam was sitting on the road and crying. After some time, police officers came there and took her mother's dead body and handed Ridam over to her father. At that time, Ridam was around 12 years old. After a few days, her father admitted her to an orphanage and married again. Ridam became sad. 10 years later. Ridam was a junior runner. Ridam's performance was getting very bad in the last few competitions. That's why she started feeling more sad for some days. After a few days, a junior running competition was going to be held in the district. Ridam used to work hard day and night for that competition. Now she did not even eat properly. Due to which her body started becoming weak gradually. After a few days, the running competition started. Now all the runners were about to run when Ridam felt dizzy and fell down. Ridam was admitted to the hospital. After a few days, Ridam became healthy. Now she worked hard and ate well from time to time. After 1 year. Again a race competition was organized in the district. This time Ridam came second in the district level race competition. The second time she got third position in the state level race competition. After a few years she participated in the national race competition and again came third. On one hand there was happiness of coming third and on the other hand there was sadness of not coming first. Now she used to do the training given by the coach. Along with that she used to do other exercises also. Like climbing small mountains, running a few kilometers in the morning…etc. Five players including Ridam were selected for the World Olympics. Ridam was leaving everyone behind in the race and was performing very well. The time came when Ridam won gold in the Olympics and came first. She was running waving the flag of her country. Today her father was also present in the stadium and was clapping.
