This all started when donnie began to experiment in his lab as always the purple masked turtle works in his lab like its his only hobby other than taking rejuvenating breaks his brothers doing their own usual ; Leo obsessing over captain ryan , raph kicking and punching the shredder dummy , mikey enjoying his pizza .

Donnie fidgeted his tool on the gadget to work on it "should i twist this here ..." he mumbled his brown eyes focused on the gadget . This gadget is a head piece that will help april to be in more tune with her telepathic powers so the smart turtle could understand how the pulses of her thoughts works , speaking of her thoughts .

  Donnie's mind wandered to those moments where he always muses about april how he wished to take her out on her dates and watch her favourite movie even shows to impress that he can memorise the whole dailogue but as always april just sees him as her friend a blow to his heart but he's thankful and grateful for that honoring the only relationship donnie ever has

Donnie shook his head once again redirecting his task at hand "no i shouldn't loose my focus..." he murmured scolding himself .

His three fingers did the trick again fidgeting and controlling the command process while waiting for april to show up

Donnie's determined focused face now brighten with relief and victarious expression seeing that the gadget had worked as he switched on the power button in center of the head piece which is placed . The machine hummed into life as its azure color glowed and energized , as much as he wanted to cheer in victory he must stand firm in his ground he did not tested its potential .

  "Hey donnie" the sound of his precious chinchilla greeted him , his head whipped to face the orange haired angel

"Hey april !" Donnie greeted back with big toothy grin showing his gaped teeth , april seeing this giggled in humor she knows that this had been an continuous routine whenever april shows up donnie gets excited so this was nothing new to her.

"Got any inventions to share ?" April asked as she round around the table placing her bag on the table

Donnie glanced up to april he could feel his heart beating fast as she approached him blush bloomed his cheek as he wanted to cover up .

The genuis turtle cleared his throat "yes april i did infact i thought this gadget might help you be in tune with your emotions since your telepathic abilities goes haywire whenever your overwhelmed with such emotions" donnie explained his tone technically speaking.

April looked up as her ears perked in his explanation his idea finds interesting but she felt compelled to feel that things could go wrong like that would happen at her old farm house during sort of quarintine back during kraangs invasion .

Donnie sensing her uncertain fear his hands gently gripped her shoulders and squeezed reassuringly "its okey april if this did not followed up to my precise plan i can disband this project mainly for your own mental safety"

His words echoed in her ear like a gentle waves of ocean making her feel relaxed and safe even more she knew she could count on donnie ever since first time meeting him when the human/kraang disguised robots almost abducted her and her father almost rescued that time .

  Her unsure eyes met his warm reassuring determined brown ones her nude pink lips curled upwards in a relaxed smile she knew she could trust this invention donnie proudly build .

With a simple nod of reassurance and a smile of wanting to give it a try . Donnie's lips curled upward in a happy smile he gives her encouraging thumbs up as she took a seat donnie offered . his fingers excitedly gripped the invented gadget he build as he tenderly secured around her head like a crown .
