The day of the mission to retrieve Cecilia's soul has finally come. I should be feeling prepared, but all I want is rest. My mind is spinning, and strangely, there's this overwhelming sense of nostalgia hanging over me. It's as if the past is pulling at me, reminding me of something just out of reach.

I sigh, glancing at my companions for this mission. Instead of Otto, like we originally planned, I'm stuck with these two... idiots. Aqua is bouncing around, looking way too excited for something this serious, while Darkness, well, she's here too, with that same weird enthusiasm she always has for danger. I shake my head and mutter under my breath, "Why do I have to be stuck with these idiots?"

Of course, Aqua being Aqua, immediately whines, "Hey! I heard that! You just called me an idiot, didn't you?"

I try to play it off, looking away as if I didn't say anything. I'm not in the mood for her usual theatrics. Darkness just grins like this is the adventure of a lifetime. It's clear she's already imagining some dramatic scenario where she can throw herself into danger. I almost pity her at this point. Almost.

Before all this, I actually had a conversation with Welt. I thought someone from the Second Impact should accompany me, someone who knows the intricacies of the task ahead. Welt agreed to help, but then Aqua and Darkness insisted that they be the ones to join. I still don't understand why they're so eager. After a long discussion—no, more like a battle of wills—it became clear. These two weren't going to back down. Somehow, despite all logic and reasoning, here we are.

Honestly, I don't know whether to be annoyed or relieved. They're both strong in their own ways, sure, but are they really the best for something like this? I guess I'll find out soon enough. At least... I'm not doing this alone.

I glance over at Aqua, who is—as always—in her usual outfit. Seriously, how many of those blue dresses does she have? I've lost count. It's like she doesn't even care that we're about to head into something this dangerous. The stakes are high, but nope, Aqua just strolls along like it's another carefree day at the tavern, bouncing around like nothing could go wrong. She's probably more worried about how shiny her staff is than the fact we're retrieving a soul. Classic Aqua.

Then I turn my eyes to Darkness, who's already suited up in her battle armor. But not her usual clunky medieval plate—oh no. This time, she's in her E:D-StormStriker.

[E:D= Eternal Darkness]

Something straight out of a sci-fi movie. The suit's design is sleek, a mix of black and silver with golden veins tracing along her body, glowing faintly with energy. She's even got this golden visor covering her eyes, giving her a sharp, futuristic look. It's a far cry from the Darkness I used to know, who'd willingly charge into a fight just to get hit. Now, she actually looks... well, intimidating.

 well, intimidating

[Damn... My hand just goes beyond Super hand 2 and now it is Super hand 3!!! Is it good?]

It's kind of ridiculous when I think about it. Aqua, a literal goddess, still looks like she's about to attend a festival back in Axel, while Darkness, a knight from a medieval era, looks like she stepped out of some futuristic action game.
