Warning: Although this chapter may make Night seem like a bish, know that she was forced into the Dark Forest. Just dont lose hope in her.

Nightfeather blinked open her eyes and scanned her surroundings. She seemed to be in a dark, murky forest. There were no stars in the night sky, only a half-moon, and even that was covered in clouds. Her heart began to race as she recognized her surrondings. The Dark Forest. She smiled to herself at the thought. She couldn't deny how excited she was.

The black she-cat padded forward onto the forest trail. Despite the slight breeze that had started, the leaves of the tall trees remained unmoving. It was as if time had stopped. Even the drops of dew hanging from leaves stopped in mid air, unable to complete thr journey to the ground. She stopped when her paws seemed to skid on the forest floor and looked down. It was slick with blood. She narrowed her eyed and dug her claws into the ground to get a better grip.

Nightfeather sprinted forward as a clearing came into view. Tall trees bordered it, and in the middle stood a large pile of bones. She gasped as she relaized one of the skulls was shaped like a cat head.

Voices and grunts filled the air. Cats of all different shapes and sizes were training with claws unsheated. Some of their bodies were faded, some where only a ghostly mist. Nightfeather shivered as she recalled a nursery tale.

The great Firestar fought with the evil she-cat. He leaped at her, but she met him, blow for blow. Her pelt was faded, as if she was nothing more than mist. She was being forgotten. Soon, she would dissapear.

Nightfeather stepped into the moonlight illuminating the clearing. Several cats stopped to stare, ans she felt her pelt itch with uneasiness. One cat, a black tom, slowly padded towards her. She could see right through him.

"So, you're Nightfeather?" He asked, voice laced with contempt. "Finchwing informed me you would be coming soon."

Nightfeather swallowed and gave a wordless nod.

He sighed. "My name is Breezepelt. I will be training you. Your first challenge: kill this poor excuse for a cat." He motioned with his tail towards a gray tom huddled in the middle of the clearing. "Maybe than I'll take you seriously, Clannie."

Nightfeather stiffened as she recognized the faint scent. Ashcloud. She narrowed her eyes as the cats that were training, pelts slick with blood, parted to let her pass. Ashcloud stood up as his eyes flared with recognition.

"Nightfeather! I never thought I'd see you here." He gave her a watery smile and flicked his tail.

Nightfeather continued to advance on him, eyes cold and claws unsheated. A dark smile was plastered on her muzzle. Her heart was edging towards this. She wanted this. He deserved it, didn't he? He broke her heart.

He began to slowly back away. "W-what a-are y-y-you doing?" He stammered.

Nightfeather didn't respond. Instead she gave him a grin and bunched her muscles. He would pay for what he did.

Oh, how he would pay.

Ashcloud gave a shriek as she pushed him to the ground, claws digging into his flesh. She raised a paw above his throat.

"P-p-please!" He pleaded with her.

Nightfeather hesitated for a second, but regained her composure in a heartbeat. Her thorn-sharp claws came down on his throat, slitting it. Blood spurted as he choked. The dark liquid stained her cheek.

She calmly stepped off him and watched as he gave a final, heaving breath. His body began to fade until there was nothing but blood left on the ground.
