Chapter 12

     The darkness soon went away as everyone within in the restaurant was frozen in place, it looks like one of them has the shadow rune. The lady was standing as she looked around a bit. She lets out a sigh before speaking, "So, what are we going to do with these people?" She said out loud behind her white mask as it made her voice sound like its vibrating. The man turned to her, "Alessia, we could just put them in a pile and take these two and unfreeze them. I'm sure it's putting a strain on the rune you're using hunny." He turned over to Ryan. "You'd be surprised on what it can do on a person." He then looked at Tori for a moment. "I honestly thought you two were just friends hanging out, but the way you two are dressed tells otherwise. Hey ginger. Why wear such an expensive suit like this..." He looked at Alessia for a moment. She then snapped her fingers allowing Ryan and Tori to allow them to move their heads and necks.

     "Who are you guys and what do you want from us!?" Tori yelled snapping at them both before Ryan could say a thing at them. The man and Alessia chuckled slightly at this as he went over to them both setting a leg on the table. "Relax, about time you all rune guys know about us. Since I'm allowed to share. ~" He said teasing a bit underneath his white mask that has his face. "Me and Alessia are in this group of people, following this one person's commands. We follow what he does and say to get rid of the fire freaks! I'm pretty sure all of them are gone expect well...for you man." He pointed his finger at Ryan.

     "W-What?" Ryan said stuttering a bit in disbelief. "Yeah! Also, surprisingly you all look almost the same as well; despite being born from different races and all, we even keep the heads of them too! It's so fun you can't even imagine the thrill of chasing you people down. Seeing you all chase it hilarious, especially with that little anger issues as well.' The way he spoke about it as if it were an honor to do this made them both feel sick to their stomach. Ryan didn't know what to say, he was in shock. "But we didn't do all of the work to be honest here. Partially to blame is your academy as well. They also tracked the fire users down, some of them died after their rune got taken away. But that is to be expected when it's removed, and they still did it despite the risks. while the others...well they went to us." He sheathed out a sword that was black that he had on his hip. "They actually use this. Well, mine isn't as strong as his but still. Allow me to demonstrate." He went to one of the people that was frozen in place, their eyes darted to him as they panicked from the inside after hearing all of that. "The sword is so clean it can cut through almost anything that is a solid..." He puts it close to their head.

     "Stop! Don't hurt the man! He didn't do anything! Stop!" Ryan yelled out sounding desperate as he couldn't do anything. The man's eyes looked at the sword.

     "Oh, shut up. I'm not going to kill him. Just going to cut this off!" He said so as he aimed for the man's arm that was raised while his hand held up a wine glass to another person's wine glass. Everything felt slow for a moment as then a sudden burst of flames went up onto the sword flying to his arm. "The fuck-" He quickly dropped the sword as he tried to put it out. "Ryan...How did you-" Tori asked confused but also having some relief in her voice. "I... I don't know-" Before Ryan could finish sentence the man spoke in a low threatening voice. "Tell me. Tell me how you did that." He said as he turned to Ryan. Ryan genuinely has no idea how he did it. He just stared at it the sword with his eyes intensely enough to the point where his emotions were stressed enough where his rune managed to activated which shouldn't be even possible to do in the first place since his body is basically paralyzed. "You shouldn't be able to move your body at all besides the head and the neck." He came over to him as he picked up the sword from the floor as he then puts his face close to his. "Not exactly sure how you are doing this, this is a new thing ice seen. Least to say you're the fourth dangerous person I've met with that rune of yours." He puts the sword underneath Ryan's chin. "Although...Your mana just spiked for a moment there when you did it." He went back a bit to examine his looks as Ryan looked at him fuming with anger as his brows furrowed down. "Oh, stop it, Dex. I'm sure in the most logical way the boy just did it with his head since it's the only thing I unfroze, same goes for the girl as I can see some veins coming off of the flowers as well. Don't think I didn't notice little girl. Not too sure about his mana spiking, probably something else." Dexter grumbled to himself underneath the mask. Ryan and Tori stayed quiet making sure to not say the wrong thing that could set things into the wrong direction. "Plus-side, my rune has been a bit iffy after using that medication. Should be back to normal later on in the morning. Never will use it again to be honest." Dexter put the dull side of the tip of his sword to Ryan's chin moving his head up. He tilted his own head a bit as he looked at his face. "No freckles...No imperfections aside that nose of yours. Some burn scars here and there. But those eyes of yours are really bright...Almost copper...Most of the time you guys don't look like this, maybe some blue eyes and dark brown eyes and so..." He then hears a small beep coming from Ryan's wrist. "What's this?" Ryan forgot about it. "That's just a watch- Don't worry about it!" He said panicked. Tori would've face palmed if she could. Dexter grabbed Ryan's arm ad pulled his wrist close to his face as Alessia came close as well putting her head on Dexter's shoulder. "Oboh, what an interesting bracelet. I can feel some mana coming from it. I wonder what this button does." She pointed her finger at the button that could restore the mana back into Ryan. But they don't know that. "Let's see then."
