HAVEN EYED her torn up black converse, the platform shoes covered in writing from her school days and dried blood spots she never took the time to clean. The hatchet was fixed in one of her belt loops after her arm had grew tired.

The group had been constantly walking, the road covered by nothing but forest. Over the while, Haven had found herself constantly thinking about leaving. She could go a separate way, maybe find a cabin or sleep in a tree so she wouldn't have to walk anymore.

But her mind always fought against her, finding reasons to stay. Usually if she couldn't think of any in the moment, Haven found herself looking at a particular boy.

Hearing snarling to her left, a lone walker limped out of the woods. Haven instantly reached for where her hold knife used to rest, before remembering it had been stolen by crazy cannibals.

By the time she reached for the hatchet, Michonne had already killed it. Nodding to herself, she dropped her hand and continued to follow everyone else.

She stared at the road beneath them, deciding to count the cracks to pass the time. She glanced up, realizing the time passing strategy had made her slow down. Before anyone noticed, Haven did a quick speed walk to catch up, lifting her eyes off the ground.
