Part 26

"Sorry I don't seem to remember you" I say to him. "I'm Darren! We went to school together!" He says with a smile. Then the girl from earlier walked away. "Why were you with that girl?" I ask. "I wasn't, she showed up shortly after me" he says confused. "You punched the crap out of her though" he says whilst we both laugh.

"Anyway, I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date sometime?" He asks me. "I ummm.. Have a Bo-" I say as Simon wraps his arms around my waist. "She has a boyfriend" he says to him. "Oh sorry, I didn't think you would be dating for years after what happened with David!" He says shocked.

"Don't even get me started about David, anyway it was nice seeing you again, talk to you later" I say as me and Simon wave to him as he walks away. "Thanks for not killing him" I say whilst laughing. "What happened with that David guy?" Simon asks. "he cheated on me with my Bestfriend...and then he...r-raped h-her..." I say as my eyes tear up.

"Holy crap..I'm so sorry lia, I'm sure she's okay now though, right?" Simon says as he wipes away my tears and wraps his arms around me. "He's in jail and she's happily married..but I still remember that day" I say as I stare at the wall. "Don't think about it, let's go to the park" Simon says as he grabs my hand.

We go to the park and sit on the swings. We rock back and forth and just talk. Suddenly my phone went off. It was my friend that David cheated on me with, we are still friends, her names Emily. I looked at a text that said.

"He's broken out of jail and he's coming for you! Run!"

Then I see someone running towards us from across the street. I grab Simons hand "that's him!" I say urgently. He grabs my hand and we run down the street, trying not to run home in case he sees where we live. We ran into a local corner shop and hid behind the counter, we saw him run all the way down the street until he was out of sight.

The old woman working in the shop looked at us "are you two okay?" She asks as she helps us up. "Yeah, thanks we are just running from someone" I say whilst panting. She hands us two bottles of water. "Have these" she says. I reach to my pocket to pay for them but she stops me.

"It's okay, you can have them for free" she says with a smile. "Thank you! My names Leander, lia for short!" I say as I hug her. "My names Mrs Stevens but you can call me Anna" she says as she hugs me back. "This is my soon to be husband Simon" I say as Simon hugs her. "Thank you" Simon says as he hugs her.

"No problem dears, you best get running along in case he comes back" she says with a smile. "Thank you for your help!" I say with a smile. She hands me a piece of card. "If you ever need more money, you can always work a shift here or you can just call me just to talk if you feel like it" she says with a smile.

I take the card and me and Simon run back to the house and call the police. Shortly after we called them, they had found him and they found a machete and a picture of me in his bag, this sent chills down my spine, why is he after me anyway?
