When it came to time, the morning quickly slipped away. Both of them exhausted and breathless in his bed, Damon pulled her tightly into his arms once more. He buried his face into her neck and kissed the spot where he bit her.
She had been very generous all morning, if she did say so herself.
It was quite rare for her to ever give someone her blood, most definitely when it came to another vampire feeding on her.
By noon, they still hadn't left Damon's room.
In fact, he laid in bed, only covered by sheets as they took a break from their love-making. He laid on his pillow with a hand behind his head, while Natalia was laying with her head on his abdomen, wearing one of his button-up shirts and eating grapes he had brought her from downstairs.
His fingers were brushing through her hair while she reached up, putting a grape to his lips. "You're asking me to give the three crystals I'm using to entrap your friend's parents to Elena?" Natalia repeated, after he explained to her the argument from earlier he had with Stefan and Elena.
Damon's eyes flutter when she fed him a grape. He chewed the grape and swallowed. He nodded his head, and then he took a deep breath. "I am," he replied, and his body tensed a little with the mention of his friends.
He paused and stared up at the ceiling, his fingers still ran through her hair.
"I'm trying to minimize hostilities here," he added.
"And yet you asked me anyway. Why?" She asked curiously.
Damon stayed quiet for a moment as he considered her question. "I want your perspective on this," he told her, his voice now softer than it has been before. "I want to know if my intentions, how I intend to protect what I care for, even this relationship, is wrong."
Natalia turned her head to look at him, and her gaze softened. She rolled onto her stomach while resting the bowl of grapes aside. And she propped her elbow up and leaned her chin on her palm. "It is not wrong. But, I don't know if I can give away the only leverage I have..."
Damon watches her as she moves, and when she turns to look at him, his chest tightens slightly. He was preparing himself if she'd be a bit more stubborn. But when she admitted that he's not wrong, he felt relief on the inside.
Though her words did make his heart skip a beat, when she mentioned the leverage she had, her words making it evident that she didn't want to give it up.
His eyes slowly traveled from her cheeks, to her jaw, to her neck, then back to her eyes.
She sighed as she sat up on her knees, and she touched along his chest. "Are you angry with me? Because I won't give you the crystals?"
Damon shook his head, his hands moved to her sides and rubbed along her hips. "It's not angry. More like annoyance. Because your reason makes sense, what you say is true, but it's annoying that you won't just give them to me because of it." He leaned forward and kissed her softly on the lips, not for more than a second, before he pulled away and looked down at her.
