She slid the blade across her tongue as she crouched on the table her tail whipping back and forth. Her fangs bared in a wicked grin. The tavern full of patrons, not one unaffected by the tension she was throwing. Her target stood across the room seemingly  unphased but noticeably prepared, his hand on the hilt of his sword, his tail whipping about as well,

“What are you gonna do little fox?”

His words adding to the tension in the room, the crowd taking a collective step back,
Her ears twitched at his voice, she sheathed her dagger back on her thigh holster,

“I’ll take you bare handed Mr. Big bad wolf!”

She cackled and leaped at him, a wild look shone in her eyes, the crowd let out an audible gasp simultaneously, not one stood loose. The wolf braced his stance as she flew at him with claws outstretched. He caught her effortlessly with both arms, being much taller then her she warped around his waist and shoulders respectively and they kissed deeply. You could hear the jaws of the patrons drop and feel the confusion quickly replace the tension.

“Hello Love!” she cooed, clinging to him tightly as he walked towards the bar, ignoring the looks around him.

“Sorry I’m late my Little Fox,”

he replied as he unlocked her appendages from him and sat her on the bar. He leaned down and kissed her forehead, witch made her giggle. She leaned back signaling the barkeep, the only man who didn’t seem phased by the show, for two of the usual, he nodded and she turned back to her bo with a grin,

“Work kept me out longer than planned too Love, but I turned in the bounties.”

He chuckled as he received there drinks with a nod to the barkeep. He handed one to her and they tapped there steins before taking a deep swig. He sat himself on the bar stool between her legs, leaning  his head back in her lap,

“Good. Because I got us a gig we can do together my little Fox.”

She made a happy little squeak sound and bounced. He had been prepared for her reaction with his arms under her knees wrapping round to hold her thighs so she didn’t choke him, again. He couldn’t help but smile and chuckle at her excitement, he found it so cute, he squeezed her thighs gently to regain her attention,

“There is one down side dear.” He could feel her pout as she stopped bouncing, “Care to guess the condition?”

She let out a deep sigh and finished her drink in a single gulp, her voice full of  dislike,

“They want the bounty alive don’t they?”
He nodded as she exaggerated another sigh.
“And to make matters worse is not just one we are bringing in. Its 3. All of them alive upon turn in and we will have enough money to take some time off.” He smirked, “Ya know for some time that’s just you and me my little Fox.”

He tightened his grip again as he felt her excited bounce. He knew she would like that part the most. She never cared much to be spoiled with anything other then his time and attention, and honestly he liked hers just as much. This time she bounced herself right off the bar. He easily wrapped his arms around her and placed her in his lap, her back to his chest, he rested his chin on her shoulder as she giggled. He squeezed her gently ,

“Adorable. But as entertaining as it is seeing you cause blood shed from time to time that means no killing.”

He could hear the pout in her voice as she agreed. She nuzzled into his cheek and gave it a quick lick before hopping out of his lap, he narrowly avoided getting a face full of her tail on the way down. She grabbed another beer for herself and beckoned him to follow her as she danced off towards there table in the back,

“Time. For. Strategies.” In her little sing song tone.

She may enjoy the slaughter,  but the promise of alone time with her Love, there was no price she wouldn’t pay for that. So alive it is. She jumped up and sat on the table, legs crossed, and let her tail drape down the other side. Sitting on the table was always easier for her since she was short she could maintain eye contact better. He sat on the cushioned bench in front of her. He pulled out the wanted posters and laid them out beside her on the table face down.

“These are the guys. Nothing to write home about until…”

He began  as he flipped over the first one before she cut him off,

“I KNOW THAT FOOL ASS KOBOLD!” She shouted. He placed a hand on her knee with a gentle squeeze and calm shush,

“I know dear, we both do. Remember, no killing equals our extended alone time.”

“yeah" she pouted, “I’ll shoot him after our vacation then!” she gleamed. He smirked and continued.

“As I was saying these are the targets.  We know Pain, so we already have a leg up on what to expect, his weaknesses, etc.” he flipped over the second poster, “The big green fella is Thorn. He’s an orc troll with a temper just as nasty as Pain's. Unlike Pain, he can back up his mouth. He’s a brawler. And a good one at that. Getting info on him was easy because he doesn’t know how to not start shit.”

“OK so 2 ego driven, 1 brick house and 1 2ed rate thief with a God complex. Mythril lock ups and a fuck ton of sleeping herbs. Check.”

She wrote it down in her little leather book. She always seemed to have a list handy for something it never failed.  He nodded pleased that she was actively thinking of ways to bring them in alive, for now.  He had kept the third one for last knowing she would react badly. Had it been enough time for her to heal from the trauma, she only just healed from the physical about a year ago.

“The third one is gonna be a little more difficult for you to deal with my little Fox.”

She huffed, “How bad can it be Love? “ she smiled and leaned in to kiss him but stopped short as he spoke,

“It's Mace”

As he flipped the poster her eyes widened. She didn’t budge. He felt her tense up. He laid a hand on the small of her back. The moment he touched her she seemed to relax a bit. He could still hear a tiny tremble in her voice,

“How? I saw his blood all over the ground after he cut off my wings. “

He took a deep breath, “I only managed to take his arm at the shoulder. The moment I smelled your blood in the air I ran to you instead of chasing him.” He held her face in his hands looking her in the eyes, “Your my precious little thing.  He is a lunatic. I’ll be honest with you my little Fox, if he doesn’t get brought in alive that’s ok.” He kissed her forehead as she frowned,  “And we can still go on that alone time vacation.” She perked up and kissed him sweetly.
