After our battle, I watched a few other of my classmates 1-v-1 until Mr. Aizawa sent me to Principle Nezu's office to sign the last amount of paperwork and discuss how the next few weeks were going to go.

Basically, I have to attend a lecture from 9:00-9:50, then be changed and ready for training at ground beta at 11:10. That's my schedule until the sports fest. If and when I succeed, once classes start, I should be moved into a dorm and attend UA as a full-time student.

As excited as that news is, you would think that talking about that stuff would be fun, but it felt like hours of nonstop yapping until I could finally head home.

I only did one battle today. I expected more for hero training. I'm disappointed.

I let out a sigh louder than intended.

"What the fuck do you have to sigh about, huh" I hear Bakugo approaching behind me

"Oh hey Bakugo, how are you feeling," I say genuinely.

"Don't care about how I'm feeling, but if you needed to know, I'm perfectly fine, not a scratch on me," He says, aggravated.

Yeah, thanks to Recovery Girl

"I'm not going to lie to you. It was a good fight," Bakugo says.

I laugh. "Yeah? I haven't gone all out like that in a long time. Even so... I only got to fight once today. I was expecting more than that, so I'm kinda ehh," I sigh again.

"Are you seriously complaining about not fulfilling your fucking training in front of me? You are one heartless bastard, aren't you?" Bakugo tsks as he starts to walk away.

"Awe, come on, man, don't take it like that, you know that's not what I meant," I say, trying to catch up to him.

"Why are you following me, idiot? I'm not interested." Bakugo shoots me a look as I walk next to him.

"You seriously don't remember me, huh... I just moved across from you. I saw you take out the trash before your class yesterday.

"Don't care, don't remember," He spits, obviously not giving me the time of day.

"Dude, I was bound to win that fight, give it a wrest" I say trying to set him off.

Bakugo barked a laugh, his hands stuffed in his pockets like he was trying to play it cool. "Shut up, missed everyone of my attacks by a hair! You're big talk coming from someone who can't go five seconds without runnin' her mouth. What, you got a word quota you're trying to hit?"

I laughed, raising an eyebrow at him. "Yeah, sure, and you're real good at shutting up, huh? Face it, you just like hearing your own damn voice with your stupid adlibs during battle."

He shot me another glance. "Better than listening to you bicker. Seriously, do you ever quit? I just met you, and all I've wanted to do is blast my eardrums out," he groans

"I'd suggest it, but you'd probably mess that up too." I bark back.

Bakugo shot me a look that was supposed to be a glare, but I caught the way the corner of his mouth twitched like he was trying not to smirk. "You're going to be such a pain in the ass."

"What can I say? I like to leave a lasting impression," I say, not letting him get the last word in.

He'd been like this ever since we'd met—loud, obnoxious, rough around the edges—but there was something weirdly... comfortable about it, too. Like he wasn't quite sure how to talk to me, and maybe I didn't know how to talk to him either.

We kept up the back-and-forth banter all the way down the street, trading jabs and insults that landed just a bit too soft. I don't think either of us knew if it was a friendly or genuine rivalry. Still, it was nice. Especially cuz I got to walk with the neighborhood hotty home.
