Ena's...Girlfriend?

It's been a few days since that funny incident between Akito and Ena. Ena still giggles and mocks Akito every time she passes by him. It annoys him quite a bit, but he's used to it. Yet today, it was a little different. Ena seemed on edge, hands shaking while biting her nails.

Akito took notice of Ena's strange behavior and wanted to ask what happened, but he figured she wouldn't want to be disturbed. She seemed pretty anxious, but about what? Akito pondered this question for a while, but came to the conclusion that it was probably one of her silly girl problems. He knew nothing about girls. Maybe he's just gay.

While Akito was busy in his room picking the perfect outfit for his next concert, Ena barged in. She seemed to be in a major hurry.

"Akito, come down stairs. We're having an important family meeting."

She then turned to the door and left as quick as she could. Akito was really confused, but still went along with it and hurried down stairs. There he saw his mom and dad looking at Ena with a distraught look on her face. She was constantly checking the time.

"She'll be her any minute, we have an important announcement to make to the whole family."

"Ena? What announcement? Is everything alright?" her dad said fearfully

"I'm also quite worried. Please tell us what's going on!" her mom added.

"Yeah Ena...why are you being so we-" Before Akito could finish his sentence, the doorbell rang and Ena shushed her family as she hastily opened the door nob to let her friend in.

It was Mizuki. Wearing her usual attire with cute black ribbons in her hair. She was also shaking a bit, but much less then Ena. "H-hello Mr and Mrs. Shinonome! Please seeing you here today! Ehehe..." she chuckled forcefully. She had an awkward smile on her face as she took a step in the Shinonome household and took off her shoes.

"Oh hey Mizuki. What's up?" Akito waved at Mizuki and Mizuki stared in surprise

"Oh Akito! Um...I didn't Ena would share this with you too-"

"NOT YET MIZUKI." Ena said hesitantly.

"Share what?" Akito now had a huge grin on his face as he stared at Ena humorously.

Ena was visibly pissed as she stared at Akito's cheeky face, holding in his laughter like Ena had done the day she found the letter.

"Ok everybody!" Mrs. Shinonome said to lessen the awkwardness. "Ena, what would you like to share with us? We are all ears!"

"And forced..." Akito muttered quietly to himself. Mrs. Shinonome glanced at him fiercely after.

Ena then took a very deep breath. Mizuki followed. Not knowing what to do, Ena and Mizuki held Ena's hand firmly to make themselves look more confident. Akito watched their motions unfold. He was bored, but also quite intrigued.

"Me and Mizuki..." Ena said, still taking deep breaths

"It's ok Ena, take your time" Mizuki said calmly

Ena smiled at her softly. "We are...uhhh"

This repetition of awkwardness in Ena's tone continued for about 7 more seconds until Mizuki finally blurted out the truth

"WE'RE DATING!!!" Mizuki used her open hand to cover her mouth, and snatched the other hand in Ena's grasp to double-cover her mouth.

Everyone at the table gasped as their eyes opened in shock.

"Ena you're..." Her dad looked at her

"I'm a lesbian dad." Her tone was serious but also shaky. "Mom, dad, Akito, please before you say anything I'm so sorry-"

Without any second thoughts, Mr. Shinonome wrapped his arms around both Ena and Mizuki. Mrs. Shinonome and Akito.

"Oh Ena, you don't need to be sorry. We're so proud of you for telling us. Stuff like this takes a lot of courage. You are so brave for telling us. We don't see you any differently than before. Who you love does not change you. You're still our favorite little girl. As for you Mizuki, welcome to the family!"

Just by the sound of these words, Ena started to tear up as well as Mizuki

"I LOVE YOU DAD!" Ena said stuffy-nosed

"THANK YOU MR. AND MRS. SHINONOME" Mizuki added

They were crying and laughing of happiness as they huddle around each other in a warm group hug.

Akito had said nothing yet. He wasn't mad at Ena at all, but the opposite. He was incredibly happy for her. Though they've had their falling outs in the past, deep down they still cared for each other. He was proud that Ena has finally come to terms with her closeted sexual identity, and that her parents in a country full of negativity spread around the LGBTQ+ community could actually accept her as she was. "Oh yeah!" He thought to himself, "I haven't said shit yet".

"Ena." Akito said firmly

Ena turned to look at Akito while her parents and Mizuki were still celebrating.

"I'm...really proud of you. I support you."

Ena looked at him shocked. She didn't expect him to be this nice

"Oh! Actually?"

She swung her arms around Akito and squeezed him until he could barely breath

"Thank you, Akito."

Akito squished back

"No problem, Ena"

After the celebration had settled down a little more, Mrs. Shinonome insisted Mizuki stay for dinner to celebrate this new founded relationship. While she was preparing the meal, Akito went to his room and sat on his bed to ponder what just happened.

"Ena's...a lesbian???" he thought to himself

"I've never thought out of all people, Ena would be the girlkisser. But now that I think about it, she's never had any interest towards men at all. Also, she's never talked about how attractive men were, only girls..."

The dots were connecting. Maybe Ena's sexuality was apparent, Akito was just too ignorant to notice. But then he realized something he didn't notice before.

"Wait...if mom and dad accepted Ena's sexuality with open arms...do you think they'll do the same with..."

Just before he could finish his thought, his dad knocked on the door and walked in.

"Alright son, dinner's ready. Be super nice to Mizuki, okay? We want to make her feel as welcome to the family as possible."

"Will do dad."

Mr. Shinonome shut the door and went downstairs while Akito got himself collected to go and celebrate with Ena's new girlfriend. He was quite excited for Ena but would never admit that to her. But now with this full realization that queers would be fully accepted in this household, he could now comfortably admit his bisexuality. But he couldn't do it right now because that would ruin Ena's special moment. He didn't hate her THAT much. So after the dinner, he planned on creating an idea of coming out later this year. But he couldn't think of that right now. He had to go downstairs. So he went, and saw his family and Mizuki sitting and chatting. After a deep breath, he made his way down. He could finally come out comfortably.
