"What nonsense are you spouting, child!" Shi Wen's expression changed as he roared angrily, his voice filled with a mix of rage and sorrow. "What do you mean 'selling yourself'! Everything I've done has been for your own good. You know very well that the Xi family is a patriotic enterprise of the Empire, a model of law-abiding conduct. Their growth is only getting stronger. Shi Can looked at Shi Wen's deliberately authoritative anger and didn't even bother arguing over who truly cared more about the Xi family's wealth and power. He sneered, deliberately provoking him. "Father? Do you really think having me call you father all my life makes you the head of some grand family?"
