On the third day after confirming his pending registration status, Shi Can was sent by the Shi family onto the spaceship heading to the Xi family's old mansion—where Xi Ming currently resided.

The person sent to fetch Shi Can was Xi Songkai's son, Xi Hanrong. Xi Hanrong only hesitated slightly upon seeing Shi Can in person for the first time, pausing for just a few seconds before returning to his usual indifferent demeanor. Throughout the entire trip, he remained silent, sitting quietly on the spaceship without saying a word.

On the other hand, Xi Songkai once again video-called Shi Can, reiterating his concerns about Xi Ming's unfortunate situation, encouraging Shi Can to be more proactive and understanding toward him.

"...You know, after Xi Ming's injury, both his physical and mental health have suffered. He doesn't have many close elders in the family, and I personally took the initiative to arrange this marriage for the sake of his health."

"When you arrive... try to take the initiative. He's endured a lot over the years, and his personality may be a bit difficult, but since you're already registered, you're part of the family now." Xi Songkai smiled warmly, then sighed lightly. "His health is poor, and he really needs the mental comfort that only someone like you can provide. You two were a perfect match on the first try, so your compatibility should be high, which means..."

He trailed off, not finishing the sentence. After all, the mental comfort between an alpha and omega required establishing a bond, and whether it was a temporary or permanent mark, it involved the blending of their pheromones—a rather private matter.

However, Xi Songkai's pleading expression made it clear what he was leaving unsaid.

Even though Shi Can had an extra lifetime's worth of memories compared to others, he had still received a full education on omega physiology in this world. He had no desire to discuss such personal matters with someone he had only met a few times, so he remained silent.

Knowing that this was a private matter, Xi Songkai only mentioned it briefly and didn't press for an answer, quickly changing the subject.

Shi Can continued to feign nervousness and unease to brush off Xi Songkai's words, but his mind began to wander.

After all, the Shi family had been Shi Can's home for twenty years. Now, he was moving to a strange place, marrying an alpha he had barely interacted with. His nervousness wasn't entirely an act.

Previously, Shi Can had maliciously speculated in front of Shi Wen about the Xi family's real intentions for marrying Xi Ming to an omega. However, speculation was just speculation. So far, aside from Shi Wen's eagerness to trade him for resources, no one from the Xi family had privately approached him. Every conversation had centered around Xi Ming, with repeated instructions to treat him well, as if all they truly wanted was an omega to help alleviate Xi Ming's pain with mental comfort.

Shi Can chuckled bitterly to himself. Aside from the Shi family, very few families would be willing to marry off their omega to a rumored alpha on the verge of death, one with such a difficult temperament.

But the good news was that once he was married, he would finally be free of the Shi family—one silver lining amidst all this chaos.

After listening to Xi Songkai's rambling for the entire trip, Shi Can finally arrived at the Xi family's residence.

"All of your belongings have already been placed in your room. Someone will lead you inside once we arrive," Xi Hanrong said as they reached the gates of the Xi family's mansion, coming to a stop and turning toward Shi Can.
