When I walked in the studio to see Calum alone I was more than relieved.

I honestly was scared of Michael the thought of him ever coming closer than a metre from me gave me the shivers. And Im not really someone who gets scared of people.

Im scared of bugs and Im scared about where my mum is. Is she safe? Is she finally at peace? Im scared of questioning the afterlife too.

But thank god it was just Calum. When I opened the door he was playing some chords, trying them out, and the sequence he played when I opened the door had me fall in love with the song we were going to write today.

It was a lot more upbeat sounding than the others I'd heard by his band. But I had only really heard 2 of their songs so far so there was bound to be surprises.

"What. Did. You. Just. Play?" I squeal at the top of my lungs which makes Calum fidget a little in his seat.

"Erm I'm not really sure. Maybe we could use it in this song today?"

"Sure thing. Lets get going, I'll grab a guitar." I do so and we begin strumming a little bit together.

Where the hell is Michael though? Isn't music meant to be like his passion? I let it slide and just look at Calum's little smile.

We strum and then he gives me this look and its as if we're both on the same wavelength of brain stuff or something. After the look we both check the nevk of the guitar and we play the exact same thing.

Completely original.

Then we both look at each other confused, his big brown eyes looking like a little puppy's. We continue to play but, again, at the exact same time we both make our little melody a little longer. At the exact same time - completely original.

It was a moment of pure magic, pure musical chemistry. And I honestly felt on top of the world to know someone thought about music the same way I did - and they were signed to Capitol Records.

"Wait wait wait!" I stop him and he leans forward, putting his guitar to the side as he becomes intrigued by the one I'm holding.

And I play the little thing I came up with yesterday. And I sing a little "ohhh, ohhh." To go with it. Calum's face lights up so quick and in the most adorable, puppy like way.

"Cand, that's perfect! We can have that as an intro then all we need is some lyrics for the part we just wrote and then later we can write some more stuff too! Candy you're a musical genius, oh my god." It was nice to hear someone ramble to me a little, rather than it being me rambling or being rambled about. It was cute because Calum didn't seem like the rambling type.

He hops up and runs over to the desk where his song book is. I grab mine from the corner of the room and it was still open on yesterday's page. I'll take that home tonight. I run over to Calum and we both sit on the spinny chairs.

"So what should it be about genius?" Calum asks with a cheeky smile that he hasn't stopped wearing since he heard us play simultaneously.

"Hmm." I think for a moment. "Well pop songs or whatever type of song this is, are usually about love right? And I love these studios and music. So why not write a song about music?" I waste my breath on thoughts as Calum listens.

"Candy you should totally do this as a career." He chuckles, but not making the statement sarcastic.

"I wish, Calum." I say and think about my dream - my name on the back of an album, on the inlay covers saying I wrote the songs.
Once out of my daze I realise Calum's eyes are directly locked onto mine.
