“Dad, please don’t

“Dad, please don’t.” I begged him with tears running down from my eyes.

“I should have killed you on that day itself.” he said, gripping my chin tightly. His eyes filled with hatred, and fierce nothing less than a demon.

My father, my own biological father, is holding me against the railing of some top building. He made me lean against the railing, hanging by my waist. If he leaves the grip from my chin, I will be gone forever.

I don’t know how I came all the way up here. He is looking dead in my eyes and all he wishes for is my death. How can a father hate his daughter? How can a father be so cruel towards his daughter? Did he never feel a single ounce of love for me?

My entire body is shaking out of the terror of dying tonight. Is this the end of mine? What about my dreams? What about making my mother proud? I don’t see any flicker of sympathy in his eyes. His eyes are dead and black like his soul. He kept pushing me backward by gripping my chin tighter.

My cheeks were hurting, it caused me to shiver down my spine. My eyes were burning due to fresh, warm tears. He kept pushing me more backward, and my feet were not touching the cold, tiled ground anymore. He was adamant in killing me tonight, no matter how much I pleaded with him.

“Die!” he whispered, his voice dropping low to the pits of hell. I feared my dad but today I was terrified. My stomach was in knots, he could leave his grip and it won’t take a second for me to slip down this railing. I will crash to the ground in no second taking away my life. No matter how much my father put me through torture, my wish for living has always been for my mother.

If she took her life just for giving me one, then I would better live it with pride, dignity and happiness. And making her proud even when she is not here. But she never cautioned me about the demon she left behind. The one who will be after my death so adamantly. How can she leave me behind with this monster?

And then, the most awaited thing happened. He was looking in my eyes waiting for me to fall off from here and I pleaded with my eyes to him to not take away my life. And this was the moment where only one wins. And unfortunately, he won.
