He stood at the door of her house where he most likely had to face her father's wrath. That previous night he had flew out to the fields and shouted for help carrying what looked like a corpse. Instead it was just a passed out paralyzed girl. Now she could never love him. He knocked on the door and saw a god. A tired god. Eyes red god. Looked like he was crying god. A god who couldn't possibly be a god in this state "you. You did that to my daughter." He pointed a finger at Apollo "please sir. I didn't mean to. I like your daughter. Things just got out of hand-"
"That's why you're bringing flowers to my daughter.. look.. something happened last night after the nymphs brought laurel home..""She begged. She begged and begged and begged. For my last ever laurel sapling. To be used on her death bed. For me to strip away her life since she couldn't do the one thing she loved the most. Be a flower nymph. She begged me to strip her away from the is world. She begged me to.. get rid of her. Plant a laurel tree so she would become the laurel tree.." peneuses eyes had filled with tears "I'm sorry I can't do this. Her funerals tomorow at the laurel tree just- get lost." He shut the door leaving Apollo in the pouring rain. The sun was always shining because of Apollo but when it wasn't. It was because of apollos emotions. He shuffled over to a tree that was isolated growing large and proud its leaves resembled beauty and grace of a nymph who once roamed the mortal realm but was never able to go farther. It was marked by a heart on the tree resembling the pain that she had once her freedom was stripped away after losing her ability to move freely it had pain and sorrow dropping but now peace. Peace that not even the god of sun can disturb now. A reminder. A reminder of how she didn't choose Apollo. How she was an eternal maiden. And wouldn't break her contract. Not even for a powerful god.
(Time skip later that night)
Apollo sat next to the tree all day since he found out about daphnes death and his chest was heavy and tears streamed down his face "Artemis.. I chased her.. I hurt her. And now she's gone.." "I've lost her forever.." Artemis just hushed him hugging him tightly "I'm so sorry.." she said she knelt beside him giving him the comfort he desperately needed "she wanted nothing to do with me.." he explained burying his face in Artemises shoulder sobbing "I didn't even know her for long.. she was so young.. I thought she was mine- I thought I could win her.. I need her Artemis. I need her." "What- what if I just let her be- what if I just left her alone- she would still be here- she would still be alive- she-" his chest began to tighten and his breath quickened "why.. why. Im a monster." He said
"Apollo. Breath. Inhale. Exhale. You're not alone. You never will be. I'll be here with you on the way we will face this together. Do you understand." He nodded
"You don't have to fight it alone I'm here I'm not leaving you your safe I won't let anything happen to you focus on my voice we will get through this."
