Later that evening, Anushka found herself waiting under the banyan tree again. She clutched her phone nervously, waiting for Kabir. Though things had gone smoothly with Suhani, she still felt a flutter of nerves thinking about Kabir. Was this really happening? Were they really going to be together?

As if on cue, Kabir appeared from the school building, his tall frame silhouetted against the setting sun. He smiled when he saw her, his dark eyes lighting up with warmth.

"Hey," he said, his voice as calming as always. He walked over and sat beside her, their shoulders brushing lightly.

Anushka glanced at him, her heart racing but in the best way possible. "I talked to Suhani."

Kabir raised an eyebrow. "How did it go?"

"She was... amazing, actually. She understands, and she's okay with us."

A look of relief crossed Kabir's face. "I'm glad. I didn't want to cause any tension between you two."

Anushka smiled at him, her heart swelling with affection. He always thought about others first, always putting her feelings and everyone else's above his own. She reached out, lightly resting her hand on his.

"You don't always have to put others first, you know," she said softly. "You deserve to be happy too."

Kabir chuckled. "I am happy. As long as I'm with you."

Her cheeks flushed at his words, and she found herself grinning despite her usual self-consciousness. It was still hard to believe that this was real—that the guy she had overlooked for so long was now the one making her heart race.

"I was a fool for not seeing it sooner," Anushka admitted quietly. "You've always been there for me, and I just... I didn't realize how much you cared."

Kabir's hand tightened around hers, his gaze soft but intense. "It's okay. I wasn't going anywhere. I would've waited as long as you needed."

Anushka's chest tightened with emotion. She leaned her head against his shoulder, feeling a sense of peace she hadn't felt in a long time.

"Thank you," she whispered. "For always being there."

Kabir smiled, resting his chin on top of her head. "I'll always be here, Anushka. Always."

As the sun dipped lower, casting long shadows across the courtyard, the two of them sat in comfortable silence. The air was filled with the soft hum of the evening, and for the first time in months, everything felt right.

Anushka knew she had made the right choice. Kabir wasn't just the guy who had always cared about her—he was the one who understood her, who saw her for who she really was. And she was ready to love him back, wholeheartedly.
