Chapter No 5: Care

Abhira looked at him, her eyes clouded with furry.

Armaan.

She called out, her voice carrying a hint of furry, barely hiding the concern that lingered beneath the surface.

Kya?

He asked raising an eyebrow. Abhira looked at him, her mouth half opened in shock.

Tum apna khayal nahin rakh sakte kya?

She semi yelled at him, her concern and irritation evident in her tone.

Armaan looked at her gasping. He was taken aback by her care and the way she was concerned for him, he gazed at her, an unknown emotion flooding through him that left him puzzled. He looked at her feeling a lump form in his throat. The world around him blurred into insignificance, his world narrowed down to the girl standing in front of him, the other noises blurring into the background. His eyes welled up with a delicate sheen of tears but he blinked his tears back, gulping softly, deeply touched by her care and concern.

Armaan.

She let out a semi yell of his name tugging him out of his thoughts.

Huh!!!

He looked at her startled.

Abhira looked at him, a flicker of disbelief crossing her face as she gazed at him.

Are you for real?

She asked, her voice trembling with a hint of disbelief.

He blinked his eyes, still a little dazed.

Main dant rahi hoon tumhein aur tum sun bhi rahe ho ke nahin.

Abhira said, her voice carrying a hint of concern and she held his hand guilding him towards the room while Armaan looked at her, gulping softly as a tear trailed down his cheek, his heart swelling with emotion.

As Abhira made him lay on the bed, Armaan gasped, a shiver raced down his spine as the sheets beneath his form felt cold but he chose to stay silent.

Abhira, as if understanding his silent words, reached out, her fingers trembled as she carefully covered him with the quilt.

She looked at Armaan, her eyes softening as she spoke

Main aati hoon.

She was able to go but stopped feeling a tug on her hand, her heart skipped a beat and she turned.

Armaan looked at her, a silent plea etched into his eyes as he tugged on her hand.

Stay.

He said, his voice pleading with the depth of his emotions.

She looked at him, her heart cracking at his vulnerability and she blinked back tears.

Main kahin nahin ja rahi.

She said, her voice soft.

Bas abhi aayi.

She said, her eyes laced with a mixture of tenderness and sincarity.

He held onto her hand and could sense the sincarity in her words, a flicker of vulnerability crossed his face and he hesitantly left her hand. She looked at him for a moment and left the room.

As Armaan layed there, exhaustion clung to him like a second skin. A sense of vulnerability crashed over him with crushing weight and he gripped the bedsheets as a sharp gasp tore from his lips, his shoulders now want stiff from tension. The darkness closing him in, his throat sore and he closed his eyes pleading for the gentle embrace of sleep.
