2 hours had gone by. It was now 12:45 am, Spencer was sleeping soundly on the couch, a little uncomfortable. Vivienne slept in the bed, her mind going a mile a minute.
She had a nightmare, it was weird.
She dreamt she was 15 again, getting abused by her father. But it was different this time, he wasn't her dad. She was one of the girls in the basement. Two other women at least ten years older than her sat in the basement chained to poles with duct taped mouths, as well as herself.
She kicked and screamed until she got the attention of someone upstairs. Surely her mom or brother would come down and untie her.
Until, a light glows at the top of the starts. A little girl peeks through. She has long thick brown hair in pigtails, tan skin, and petite. An awful lot like vi when she was that age.
wait, this is vi.
Vivienne screams and cries for the little girl to come down, but as expected she freezes. Her hand shaking on the knob.
"Please, please come down here vivienne, untie me it's okay, I'm gonna help you I'm gonna save you from your dad." Vivienne pleads to her younger self, desperately.
"I-" her younger self is interrupter by her father grabbing her, screaming at her and ordering her upstairs.
A pang of pain and guilt jolts through viviennes body. She couldn't save the little girl. She couldn't save herself.
The tears flow generously, as she screams for her father to come downstairs. She would rather her father do it to her instead of the little girl. Vivienne knew how to make it feel less painful, how to keep her mind off it. Little vivienne didn't.
Eventually, the other two woman vanish. Leaving her alone , but soon enough her father walks downstairs slowly.
vivienne almost regrets screaming for her father, who was now coming down the stairs, a knife in his hands. The same knife he used to cut vivienne ever so often.
"Don't you hurt her. Do you understand me? She's a little girl." Vi cries out to her father, who was standing over her
"Oh sweet vivienne, you know you can't save her. You've lived this before, this is the way things have to be." He whispers into her ear, sending a chill down her spine
"No. That's not true. You don't need to do this, you get off on hurting little girls, on hurting ME. You're a monster." Vivienne cries out , saying this for the first time in her life.
Her father puts the knife up to her neck , and slides his hand up her shirt, making her feel that same dirty feeling.
"You'll never win." He ends the conversation before walking back upstairs, calmly.
After a while I can hear the little girls screams. It's torture not being able to help her.

With viviennes dream still playing in her head, her physical body gets restless, a cold sweat sweeping over her as her hands grip the sheets. Her breathing gets unsteady as the dream climaxes.
"No.. no.. Please Dad stop!! Get off of me!!" Vivienne cries out, her eyes still closed.
Viviennes cries get louder, as she begs her father to stop. The dream seems all too real.
From the living room, Spencer's eyes slowly open as he hears vivienne. As what's going on registers in his mind, he quickly shoots up and runs to the bedroom, to see vivienne in the bed, asleep, shaking her head and crying.
He quickly runs up to her , climbs onto the bed and starts shaking her awake.
"Vivienne.. Vi wake up it's not real!! You're having a nightmare!!" Spencer jolts her awake
Vivienne opens her eyes, still crying and tries to catch her breath, sitting up. The tears pour out as she tucks her hair behind her ears.
"I'm sorry." Vivienne sniffles
"For waking you.." she apologizes, the poor thing.Spencer's face contorts into a frown, that she would even think of apologizing for that.
"Don't apologize. I'm here for you, I'm right here, okay?" Spencer says while taking her hand in his, and pressing it to his heart to help steady her breathing.
"It was just a really bad dream.i was back there, it seemed so real Spencer." The traumatized girl explains, tears still flowing.
"I know. I know. You're safe now." Spencer says while shushing her, wiping his thumb across her cheek, getting rid of the tears.
As he does this, vivienne smiles slightly. It doesn't feel real that someone cares about her like this.
After a couple minutes, Spencer stands up to go back to the couch, and give her some space. She's been through a lot. Too much.
"Spence." The girl whispers, sniffling.
The nickname rolls right off her tongue, but it's music to Spencer's ears.
"yeah?" He whispers back
"stay with me, please. I don't wanna be alone." She forces herself to admit. She needs to be held, she's terrified of another nightmare and can't bear to be alone right now.
Without another thought, Spencer climbs into bed with her, sliding under the covers.
"thank you." The girl whispers softly
"Shh, try and sleep." He says gently while stroking her hair.
After a few minutes her breathing evens out and he knows she's asleep, he waits for her to fall asleep for him to do so himself.
During the night , they both find their ways into each others arms, her head resting on his chest and their arms wrapped around each other.
And somehow with all the chaos, this is the safest the two have felt in a long time.
