summer 1992

𝐓𝐇𝐄 time was 2:30 am. lisa marie carefully opened the door to jenna and jimmy's bedroom, with her little white bear clutched in her arm, and walked to her mother's side of the bed, and gently shook her awake.

"mommy." lisa marie said as she clutched the white bear in her arms

jenna gently stirred awake, and held lisa marie's small hand in her own. "what's the matter, my precious? are you alright?"

lisa marie shook her head no, and wiped her tears with her free hand, as she kept her beautiful white bear clutched in her arm. "i had a bad dream. will you come lay by me mommy?"

"of course." jenna said, as she gently moved jimmy's arm from around her waist and took her daughter's small hand in her own

in lisa marie's bedroom, where photos of family and friends adorned the bedroom wall, jenna laid her down and placed the covers over her daughter, while jenna hugged the stuffed bear.

"there you go, dear one." jenna smiled as she ran her fingers through her daughter's brunette hair. "are you comfy?"

lisa marie nodded as she took her mother's hand in her own. "can you sing to me mommy? the song you always sing? i promise i'll go right to sleep."

jenna smiled as she laid down in the bed beside her daughter. lisa marie turned to face her mother, and jenna held her close and ran her fingers though her daughter's brunette hair as she began to sing elvis presley's in the ghetto

since lisa marie was a baby, she grew up on elvis presley as that was jenna's favorite and she grew up on classic rock as well, given it had always been one of jimmy's favorite music genres. instead of the traditional lullabies, an elvis song was always sung to the young girl.

lisa marie softly yawned as she began to close het beautiful blue eyes. once she was asleep, jenna kissed her forehead and carefully got out of bed.

"good night, my precious. i love you." jenna smiled as she covered her daughter up and placed the stuffed bear next to her.

walkinh down the hall, she checked the temperature on the thermostat, then walked back into her's and jimmy's shared bedroom, who was awake as she laid down beside him.

"hey, is everything okay?" jimmy asked, as he turned to face her and took her hand in his own

jenna smiled and nodded as she moved closer to him. "everything's alright, just another bad dream. i laid down with her for a little bit."

"you're the real hero of the family, you know that?" jimmy said as he held her close to him. "i couldn't do this with out you, jenna."

"well, you'll never have to." jenna reassured. goodnight, my darling. i love you. i've always loved you."

"i love you too, jenna romero." jimmy said. "i always have and i always will."
