Thick smoke floods the room as the occupant violently coughs and waves his arms around the air; hoping to disperse the smoke. The man curses and sighes heavily once the air was breathable again.

'Another failed item. I could have sworn that everything was correct with the mana control and design, what went wrong?' The tall ashed covered man passed through the smoke to the door leaving his work unfinished yet again. Walking into town the various residents go about their day.

A particular resident, being a merchant, once again tries to sway some travellers to stay. "Ruhig village, a quiet town, hilly and a bit round in shape just south of the capital in the forsaken realm! It's home of the boar meat known to be so good the juices just melt in your mouth, mix that with the alcohol here and you wouldn't want to leave! The open area and denser mana makes it-"

'The meat is okay, the alcohol decent, why he even bothers is a mystery to us all.'

"HEY MERCER!," a familiar voice yells. Turning around he sees a familiar redhead-Benji-running towards him. "That explosion was pretty loud for simply making magical items, what happened this time?"

"Unfortunately I have no idea, but I will soon." Noticing his red haired friend wasn't where he usually was at this time he raised an eyebrow, "that's besides the point, shouldn't you be working right now? With the gambling night going on they are going to need as much help as possible. I heard there are even a couple of knights from the capital coming down. Whatever you guys did seemed to draw too much attention."

'Yup, and that's where you come in! What better prize to win than yul and magical items offered by you!" Benji's blue eyes shined with excitement as he grinned at Mercer.

"You're kidding me right? Do not think for one second that I'm going too-"

"I am not taking no for an answer!" Benji shouted as he grabbed Mercer's arm, dragging a grumbling man behind him as he ran off towards the bar.

They passed through crowds of people. With a harsh tug from Benji upon reaching their destination, Mercer is successfully pulled into the bar. Benji leads them both into the back behind the counter, where a man with dark hair and slight muscular build was currently working. The counter laid past the old polished tables and drunk customers, who all chatter loudly to one another, and added to the chipped floors and warm lighting.

"Quit looking so depressed Merc!" Benji slapped Mercer on the back with a laugh and shoved an apron into his arms. "We could really use your help here ya know."

"I don't even work here Benj-" Mercer was once again cut off by the loud red head.

"Well, you do today! I'm sure Tommy won't mind, right Tommy?" We looked to the owner of the bar; the slightly older man being one of Benji's friends, who only laughed and agreed.

"Don't look at me like that. I know you're still covered in gunk and ash but you have to go wait tables, we really could use the help. I'll introduce everyone a bit later. Till then, you're stuck with me until after the event. And no sneaking off! I know where you live, remember that." Benji said sternly while pointing a finger at Mercer.

Mercer looked at Benji annoyedly but said nothing. With a heavy sigh Mercer got to work. He wasted no time with filling tables and cutting down on the workload; even managing to catch foods slightly cold and reheating it with his flame magic.

Hours trickled past and patrons and regulars started leaving one by one slowly. The bar fell quiet, only leaving some event attendees left.

When the night fully arrived it ramped up again. Gamblers and players entered the bar, including magic knights; more specially, the Captain of the Black Bulls and the teleporter of his team Fineral.
