THE NEXT DAY HAYLEY FOUND HERSELF STARING AT XANDER FROM HER SPOT IN THE CAFETERIA, A SMALL SMIRK ON HER LIPS AND HER HEART FLUTTERING IN HER CHEST. It had been so long since she had experienced the feeling of butterflies in her stomach, since she had met someone who could make her blush. But somehow, Xander Hale had managed to get under her skin and draw her to him like a moth to a flame.
Jessica was watching Hayley with narrowed eyes. She wasn't stupid, she knew damn well that Hayley Swan, her best friend, was crushing on Xander Hale. But Hayley hadn't admitted it to her yet, and she was determined to get some answers.
Which led to Jessica wrapping a hand around the brunette's arm and all but dragging her to the girl's bathroom and quickly locking the door to give them privacy.
"Okay spill." The blonde said before Hayley could even question what she was doing. "You and Xander have been making goo-goo eyes at each other since yesterday. What the fuck happened?"
Hayley blushed. "Nothing! We just talked for a bit is all."
"Yeah, right." Jessica rolled her eyes, her lips pulling into an amused smirk. "You're crushing on him, aren't you? Come on, Hayley - you can't lie to me."
The Swan girl rubbed her sweaty hands on her jeans, knowing that Jessica wasn't gonna let this go, not until she got some answers.
"It's nothing serious." She finally mumbled out and Jessica let out a cheer - clapping her hands rapidly as she jumped up and down in excitement. "He did ask me on a date this weekend."
"And you said yes, right? Please tell me you said yes." Her best friend rambled her hands latching onto her shoulders and giving her a gentle shake. "Oh my god, my best friend is going on a date with Xander Hale!"
"Of course, I said yes." Hayley laughed out and Jessica let out another cheer.
"We have to get an outfit picked out." Her friend told her as the two left the bathroom, wide smiles on their faces. "I mean, OMG, you are going on a date with a Cullen."
