"Hello". I spoke softly.
"Hey, glad to see you! How have you been?"
"Great, what about you?"
"Fantastic! Come on, let's go over there, the view is really nice there."
"Yes, sure."
I followed him silently. He asked me to order something, I went with coffee to calm myself. We started conversing. He was talking about how boring the lecture was, and he was actually so sleepy. He also talked about how nervous he was when he texted me first and even at this moment. I am more surprised at the fact that he can be nervous or be bored too. I mean he seems like the guy who knows how to enjoy the "this" moment. I enjoyed listening to him.
After a while, our coffee came. He was now on second drink. I really don't like bitter things, so I started putting sugar on my coffee.
"No way, you put sugar on your coffee too?!"
"What, you too?" I replied. "Well, I had a slight feeling you would be a sweet-tooth guy." I joked a little bit.
"Really? All my friends tell me I look more like a caffeine type of guy. It's my first time hearing that and I am kind of glad." We both laughed about it.
After enjoying our sweet talk with sweet coffee, we started discussing the project. He seems serious then. It's not like he was not serious at first, he was more like sweet and cute. But now I don't know how to describe it but he was giving off more like mature type of vibe. He looked reliable. He shared his opinions and encouraged me to give mine as well. For outsiders, maybe we looked like the toppers who were discussing very hard subject. It was fun to look at every side of him. I am glad he was the one who I fell in love with. My first love.
It was already 4 pm. We really discussed it for a long time. I didn't know time goes by so fast. I wanted time to stop but we all know that is impossible.
"Time goes by really fast huh." It's like he was reading my mind.
"Right, tell me about it." By this point, we had already become somewhat casual and more friendlier.
"Let's wrap it here, shall we? Let's just write our names here today and be done. I am sure you must be tired now." It was the names that we had to include in the project.
"Alright, sure."
I opened the section where we had to write our names. "By the way, you remember my name, right?" He curiously asked. "I will be disappointed if you say you do not remember." He said jokingly.
I paused for a moment. It was the name I was continuously looking at. How could I not know? I might forget all the lectures we had but not your name. Your name is the one who I continuously looked out for every day.
"Of course, I know, but do you know mine?"
"Oh, sure I do, it's ----, isn't it? Now tell mine."
Haha okay, it's -----, right?"
"Bingo!"
When I typed our names together, I felt as if it fitted perfectly together. Love can really make you a fool. Two names, one first name and one last name, two hearts and two people who both had no idea that soon his name and her name will be engraved on the card someday.
That's right, it looked great. It looked even more great when reading:
"Reed Richard and Evelyn Josephine- happily married together"
Two steps, now so close. Just us, just two, now bound with one bond called love. Maybe now two is really my favorite number.
