Chapter six

(Malias pov)
Eddie wanted me to meet him at the coffee shop so I did, when I got there he was just sitting waiting for me "can I help you, detective?" I asked "you can stop acting like you can't stand me when your mom's around" "aww, and I like having a boyfriend who isn't shot to death" me and Eddie were dating but no one knew that not even Kylie and I tell her everything when I  kissed Eddie I pulled away and saw Kylie looking at us I stood there shocked and she looked like she was gonna cry.
(Kylie's pov)
We started walking and talking "you can't tell my mom she doesn't know about me and Eddie" Malia said "doesn't seem like anyone's in on the secret" i said " I was gonna tell you, when you were in the hospital Eddie covered my mom's shifts so that we could both be with you, I thanked him with a cup of coffee and things just kind of happened, and it's good" Malia said smiling "dating your partners daughter isn't that against department regulations?" I asked "why are you so upset?" "I just don't like having to lie to your mom, you know". We heard a bunch of police sirens and we looked to our right and saw cops chasing after a vehicle. The world slowed down around me and I saw that the vehicle was about to hit me and Malia so I tackled her out the way before anything happened, I looked at the man in the car getting away and I felt like I recognized him he looked at me speeding off and I took off running after him "Kylie?" Malia said wondering where I went. As I was running I got to the side of the car and launched myself in the car the man saw me it was one of the Mardon brothers I thought he was supposed to be dead, he was about to pull a gun on me before I grabbed the steering wheel and drove the car off the road the car flipped over he got out the car "MARDON!" I screamed trying to get his attention he looked back at me and brought his hands up bringing smoke out of them before I can even react smoke filled the entire area and Mardon disappeared into it, I heard a car horn honking and turned around to see that a car was crashing into the car that I was just in I hurried and ran to the other side of the street so I didn't get hurt.
Cops and fire fighters were at the scene investigating. "That poor man" Malia said looking at them carry the body out "the way that smoke came in, I have never seen anything like it", "Kylie!, Malia!" Sofia said running towards us "I'm alright, mom" Malia said Sofia looked at me "what the hell were you thinking having her out here?" Malia tried talking but Sofia cut her off "I told you when you see danger you run the other way your not a cop" Sofia said yelling at Malia "because you wouldn't let me!" "Your damn right", "Sofia I need to talk to you" "no it can wait" "no,now" I said making sure she knew it was urgent "I know who did this" Sofia just looked at me confused telling to go on "it's Clyde Mardon, I know everybody thinks he died in a plane crash after the S.T.A.R. L.A.B.S. Explosion, but he is alive" Sofia just looked at me nodding trying to put the pieces together "alright, something happened to him that night I think he can control the weather, the recent robberies they all happened during freak meteorological events and when I just confronted Mardon the street was instantly enveloped in smoke" Sofia just looked at me like I was crazy "of course you don't believe me, you never believe me" I scoffed "okay, you wanna do this now, out here, fine Mardon is dead there is no controlling the weather, Kylie just like there was no lighting storm in your house that night it was your brain helping a scared little girl accept what she saw" Sofia yelled "my dad did not murder my mom" "yes he did! Your dad killed your mother, Kylie! I am so sorry, but I knew it, the jury knew it, and now he's paying for what he did" Malia heard everything that was happening and tried to stop it. "Mom, enough" Malia said trying to calm her mom down "no, Malia I have done my best to take care of you since that night, and I have never asked for anything in return not even a thank you, but what I do ask now is that you for once in your life see things as they are" Sofia said scolding me, I just looked at her with tears in my eyes trying to say something but I just couldn't so I walked away.
(Sofias pov)
"Your not going to believe this"
Eddie said walking up to me "we got the eyewitness sketch of the robber from the bank job, if I didn't know better I'd say that's Clyde Mardon" Eddie said handing the sketch to me and taking out a picture of Clyde. "But that's impossible he's dead, right?".
