CHAPTER THIRTY SIX

VEDANT POV

We celebrated Sunshine's birthday wonderfully. Everyone was very happy. After the party ended and everyone left, I went to my room to spend time with my Sunshine.

Sunshine wasn't in the room, probably busy with something. I waited for her. After a while, she arrived. Her face expression was less, as if something was on her mind.

I hugged her, but I didn't feel her hands on my back. She was stiff, as if she wasn't interested in hugging me.

I stepped back, held her face in my hands, and asked, "What's wrong, baby?"

She looked into my eyes and said, "Who are you, Mr. Shekhawat?"

"What do you mean, Sunshine?"
I asked.

She jerked my hands away and with a loud, piercing voice, her blood-red eyes locked onto mine, saying, "You know everything, Mr. Shekhawat, or should I say, Murderer."

"What are you talking about, baby?" I asked, bewildered.

Her face had an eerie expression, as if she had never seen me before.

She stood before me, looking at me with an eerie gaze, and said, "I've seen everything in your study room's secret room, Mr. Shekhawat. I've discovered your truth."

I felt a strange sensation, as if my world had turned upside down.

"What did you see there?" I asked again, my voice laced with fear.

"Why don't you know what I saw there?"
"Tell me, what's going on? What exactly did you see there?"

ANSHIKA POV

"I know Ved, he can't do such things."

Then I angrily asked that woman to leave. I don't believe anyone except him because I trust Ved.

And everyone joined the party. After some time, the party ended, and everyone left. Ved went to his room.

I went outside to check with the guards if that woman had left.

Then I saw Ved's study room door was open, so I thought I'd close it. As I went to close the door, a file fell, its pages scattered everywhere. I went inside to gather the pages.

As I placed my hand on the table to pick up the file, a secret door opened. I looked under my hand and saw a button that I had accidentally pressed.

I felt an eerie fear. I saw that there were many preserved hearts with names written on them.

Rajveer Chauhan ( her late husband) ,Abhay Singh ( the College gang leader who ragged her), Pratap Sinha( her village's head ) , the hostel watchman and sanitary worker, and many others. I realized that all these people were dead.

I remembered what that girl said. Vedant Shekhawat is a big mafia dealing with drugs , murders , organ trafficing and many more.

Everything was becoming clear in my mind. I realized that Vedant Shekhawat had murdered all these people.

I felt like I was in danger too.
I should run away from him. But first I want my answers why he is killing them .

I went to my room, and Ved was standing there. He hugged me, but I felt this hug was different. Now, his hug had a strange fear to it.

"What's wrong, baby?"

"Who are you, Mr. Shekhawat?"

"What do you mean, Sunshine?"

"You know everything, Mr. Shekhawat, or should I say, Murderer."

"What are you talking about, baby?"

"I've seen everything in your study room's secret room, Mr. Shekhawat. I've discovered your truth."

"What did you see there?"
"Why don't you know what I saw there?"
"Tell me, what's going on? What exactly did you see there?" He  held my face in his hands, looked into my eyes, and asked.

But I pushed his hands away and said, "Don't touch me, I feel sickened by your touch. Your blood-stained hands will never touch me again."

His face showed a strange expression, as if he couldn't hide his truth.

Ved looked at me and asked, " So , You know everything?"

I looked at him with a strange gaze and said, "Yes and now I have decided to leave you and your hell . "

And I started to walk away, but he pleaded, "Baby, hear me out. I will make you understand everything. Just give me one chance."
I looked at him with a strange gaze and said, "No, there's nothing left to explain. You've already revealed your truth."

Then I said in a firm voice, "Leave me alone, Ved. I can't stay with you."

He tried to grab me, but I pushed him away.

"Leave me alone, Ved. I'm not yours," I repeated.

"Oh my baby! You've forgotten you're my legally wedded wife. How can you leave without a divorce? And I'll never give you a divorce, no matter what the cost."

"I'll see who stops me from getting a divorce. I'll leave this house today, no matter what."

"But first, give me my 10 crore rupees."

"What are you talking about?"

"Oh my Sunshine! Maybe you didn't read the wedding documents carefully. It's written there that whoever initiates the divorce must pay 10 crore rupees."

" You are just a fucking bastard . Show me documents I don't believe you ."
He handed me the copy of the marriage certificate.
He was right this was written there .
Now what will I do . How would I arrange this much money .

" I don't have money this time but I will pay after sometime. "
" Give me money and take your freedom. But till then you will live here in this room with me ."
" Fuck off jerk . "
" Change your dress and go to sleep baby ." Saying this he kissed on my forehead and I wipe it with my hand.

" Sunshine, try to remove me from your heart and soul."
" You..
And I left to change and went to bed to sleep.
