The day of the proposal arrived, bright and clear. Alfred woke early, his stomach fluttering with excitement and nerves. He spent the morning preparing the picnic, carefully selecting Astrid’s favorite foods, and ensuring every detail was perfect. He even arranged a small bouquet of wildflowers to present to her.

As noon approached, he set up the picnic blanket under a blooming cherry blossom tree, the petals gently falling like confetti around him. It was a serene setting, the soft rustle of leaves and distant bird songs adding to the atmosphere.

When Astrid arrived, she was captivated by the scene before her. “Alfred, this is beautiful!” she exclaimed, her eyes wide with delight.

“I’m glad you like it,” he said, smiling nervously as they settled down on the blanket. They enjoyed their meal, filled with laughter and stories, the comfort of their connection evident in every moment they shared.

As they finished eating, Alfred took a deep breath, feeling the weight of what was to come. He reached for the bouquet and presented it to Astrid. “These are for you.”

“Oh, they’re lovely,” she said, her smile radiant as she inhaled the sweet fragrance of the flowers.

“I wanted to create a moment that symbolizes how much you mean to me,” he began, his heart pounding. “You’ve been my inspiration, my partner, and my best friend. I can’t imagine my life without you.”

With that, he reached into his pocket, pulling out a small velvet box. He knelt before her, the cherry blossoms fluttering gently around them, and opened the box to reveal a delicate ring with a stunning diamond centerpiece.

“Astrid, will you marry me?”

Tears of joy streamed down her cheeks as she nodded vigorously. “Yes! A thousand times, yes!”
