✨️ Nikhil ❣ Ira ✨️

It was a busy day as usual for Nikhil. The new project took all his time and energy as well. The deadlines were near, and he had worked his entire weekend for the other projects, too. Now he just needed some time to relax - his physical and mental energy were lost already.

He sighed as he realized that his holidays were booked beforehand, and there was no way he would get one this month. To add to his misery, it was just the day after the beginning of the week - Tuesday, and the weekend was very far away. Pushing his thoughts away, he sat on the bed, ready to sleep after checking important emails.

Nikhil saw his wife Ira enter inside the room with a pile of clothes, and his eyes traveled how she sprawled them on the bed with a huff. He saw her folding them one by one and sorting them to keep in the cupboard. He made himself busy again in his phone- checking important emails and replying to them.

Ira had her fair share of a busy day, and this was her last task before going to bed. Though the bed looked more inviting and her husband's arms felt more comfortable, she huffed and started keeping the clothes in their place.

"Nikhil?" She addressed him, and he just hummed in response without bothering to look up from his phone.

"Nikhil, dekhiye na! Meri pink dress kitni aachi hain."

Nikhil looked at her with amusement. This was her old tactic to catch his attention. As soon as his eyes met hers, she asked further, "Bataiye mene abhi kya kaha?"

He just rolled his eyes and replied, "Ye blue dress hain Ira!"

"Dekha! Aapka dhyaan sirf phone mein hain! Me kya kehe rahi hu, aap kya bol rahe hain! Jaaiye ab!" he surely won't get cuddles tonight. She scoffed.

"Ira! Mein bata raha hu ki ye blue dress hain, pink nahi! Why do you always think that I do not listen to you? My eyes are on the phone, but ears are open. Sab sun sakta hu mein!"

She sighed, having lost this silly banter with him and kept the clothes in the cupboard. Getting ready to sleep, she sat near him.

"Nikhil, mein kya kehe rahi thi.." she stopped midsentence and looked at him.

Nikhil's ears perked up at her choice of words and her sweet voice. His mind went alert, and he blinked twice as he knew what was coming next. He knew her very well. She definitely had a demand, and that will include his time or money or both.

He placed his phone on the nightstand and turned his head towards her, giving his full attention to her. Work can wait. This is important now.

"I want to go shopping tomorrow," Ira continued, and Nikhil thinned his brows. Shopping? What would that have to do with him?

Nikhil's wife was a shopping freak. Her one word 'shopping' includes everything. May it be buying flowers, fruits, groceries, clothes, beauty products, visiting malls.. everything came under shopping for her.

Nikhil knew that his wife did not need him for her shopping, nor did he insist on it. She would buy and would excitedly show them when he came home, tired from work.
