"What are you doing?"
Sumi nearly jumped off from her seat, immediately slamming her notebook face down. Nabi raised a brow, completely suspicious about Sumi's behavior.
"What?" Sumi defensively asked in return, trying to keep a neutral face even after the panic she expressed just a second ago.
"Look at Akami. She's been acting strange since yesterday."
Sumi turned to look, only to see Akami slumped down on her seat, face down on her desk, seemingly engaging into a deep sleep.
"What–" before she could react, Nabi was already able to grab her notebook, running far away from her in an instant.
"Hey! Give me that back!"
Sumi chased after her friend all the way outside the classroom and down a staircase, and by the time she had reached her, it was already too late. Nabi was staring at a certain page of her notebook, squinting her eyes while intently staring at it for a long time.
"Who's this?"
Sumi's lip raised for a bit, expressing her embarrassment and cringe all at once. During their free time, she got so bored sitting in class and doing nothing that she ended up drawing the stranger she met at the convenience store. It would have been absolutely fine if she was NOT a good artist at all. But she was. And that makes things only worse for her, since her drawings were exact and detailed, like a portrait straight off a scene.
"No one."
"Is he your boyfriend?"
"NO!"
Nabi raised a brow, completely in doubt on how defensive her friend was being.
"Well it wouldn't be a wonder if he was," Nabi sighed, closing the notebook and handing it back to Sumi, who grabbed it almost immediately like it was the most precious thing to her.
"That guy is fine. Totally your type." Sumi felt her cheeks getting warmer as she turned her head away. "He's not."
Her friend laughed at her before wrapping an arm around her neck.
"We'll see about that, Sumi."
___________
Wooin wiped a sweat off his face as he removed his helmet, leaning into his bike's handlebar with his arms crossed, the helmet being held by his right hand. No matter how much he hates seeing Joker around recently, he still attends their training strictly. He wasn't that much of a baby after all. It's absolutely disgusting being petty towards your friend over a girl. Admittedly, he was disgusted towards himself.
He turned his head towards a certain bench, where he saw his other teammate, Hyeok, typing busily on his phone. Maybe chatting with his girlfriend, no one knows. Hyeok was mysterious, almost secretive. No one even knows how or what he was doing with his life outside bike races and training. Joker, on the other hand, was drinking off a water bottle, his girlfriend nowhere to be seen. Good for Wooin, because he wasn't in the mood to see them being all over each other.
"I need to go," Hyeok suddenly announced, fixing his helmet with his right hand, while his other hand was holding his bike's handlebar tightly.
"Why? You off on a date?" Wooin playfully teased with a smirk across his face. It has been awhile since he acted cheekily around his teammates, mostly due to the fact that he loses the mood to do so whenever he sees Joker and her. It's hard to humor anyone when you can't even humor yourself with how shitty your life has been for the past few days.
