The Wandering Whisker:- A Cat's War Odyssey

Chapter 3:- Revenge and Disappointment

One day the Cat decides to leave as it had been the companion of this tribe for around Two centuries since the beginning in their ups and downs. It was time for it to explore  other regions as it knew the world wasn't limited to the plateau it has been living in.

When the Sun rose the cat began its journey down the plateau on the opposite side from where it had come before using the survival tactics it learned from the humans. It climbed the trees and hid itself where there was a dangerous creature around,while hunting the animals it could kill and eat to stay alive.

It spent days wandering in the wilderness till after few moons it came out of the woods. Finally it had reached another region as the difference could be seen by the colour of the grasslands  , the fragrance, flora and fauna differing from where it had came from.

For some days it wandered in the new region finding for the human species and once when it found them it saw the tribe had different kind of clothing compared to it previous tribe and the habitat difference could be seen clearly.

At the beginning it kept its distance from the humans creating a bonding of trust and companionship. The tribe would worship the Sun, the Moon and the nature surrounding every morning by performing a ritual. The Cat couldn't understand at first but realised it was the way of thanking the environment for its providings.

The cat and the humans didn't know the existence of the creator so they believed in nature to be their mother and thanked them every morning.

These humans had same habits but with different techniques for hunting and gathering while the corps they grew here were different than before. The cat was amazed by the similarities yet some dissimilarities between these two regions and their humans.

The humans had started to utilise their vocals as a source of communication with some hand gestures as the cat understood as it spent time with them for days. The vocal communication hd become handy for the humans and soon a language was developed between them.

One day the cat went out hunting with the humans and were successful in catching a big animal. While coming back they came across another tribe who trespassed in their hunting grounds. They tried to communicate with the another tribe but as the another tribe had developed different language making a tensed surrounding as both felt threatened by each other.

Soon enough they started attacking eachother with bare hands and their weapons as the cat saw through a distance. Some broke bones of others while some made others cripple and few of them died while fighting. The cat was in awe watching a terrifying scene and couldn't understand why the animals of same species were attacking eachother.

The intruding tribe decided to run away from the area while one of the hunting tribe man followed  them tracking down their base. The tracker came back with the location and soon everyone equipped their weapons marching towards the enemy base.  The cat followed them without knowing where they were going.

The humans were feeling a new emotion of Anger and Revenge which was the cost of their own peoples death. Infront of the enemy base the humans yelled and marched towards the entrance attacking the enemy tribe. Both tribe had strong warriors going toe to toe against eachother. Many men and women died while the houses were burnt  the childrens were either killed or prisoned and taken back.

The cat also had a new emotion of disappointment which it felt during the war of the tribes. With the advantage in numbers the raiding tribe was successful in slaughtering the enemy tribe and were able to recruit kids and women.

The Kids were taught hunting and gathering while the women were made to bear the children of men either by obedience or by force. The Cat missed the old days where everyone lived in harmony and were in developing stage. The disappointment had left the cat shocked as it decided to walk in a new direction serching for a new tribe so it wouldn't encounter another such sight ever again.

But who knows what is ahead for our little immortal cat on its journey.......
