I slowly walked along the old cobble road at my new school, Johnson University. My hands were cold and clammy as the brisk fall air blew the red leaves along behind me. I heard laughter and kind words being passed back and forth between the other students in the courtyard. The wind was overwhelmingly frigid for mid October in Chicago. As the breeze seeped into my black jeans and large sweater that I had thrown on for the long ride from Tennessee this morning, I began to walk faster towards a small tea shop on the corner of the cobble road. As i entered the cramped shop the warm smell of earl grey and camomile tea enveloped me and brought instant warmth to my cold limbs. I shuffled over to the furthest booth in the shop, near a small stage with a band of four college aged men who were playing beautiful indie tunes through their vintage amplifiers. As i passed the lead singer we locked eyes, he had the most gorgeous deep brown/ hazel eyes i had ever seen, framed by long dark eyelashes i would kill for and he had a large jewish nose with a small divot on the tip that added unique character to his kind face. I quickly looked away; my face burning with embarrassment. Had he really looked at me that way, or was it just in my mind? I suddenly felt self conscious about my messy appearance and hid in the booth. A few minutes later a tall skinny waitress flounced over to my table. "Hi, what could I get ya tonight?" she said with a thick northern accent. " I'll take a camomile and peppermint tea please." I quietly answered. After she disappeared into the quaint kitchen I felt a tap on my shoulder. I squeaked and quickly turned around to meet face to face with the gorgeous singer i had connected with earlier. " Hi, I noticed you walking past earlier, you seemed interested in the amplifiers on stage." he said. I loudly gulped and turned to reply, only to find I couldn't bring myself to speak. I sat blankly staring at him as his face showed the obvious question of why I wasn't responding. " Oh, yes. The amplifiers reminded me of my grandfather's that he owned in the 50's." I was obviously lying, I was so frightened of what to say. " Wow, that's really cool, mind if I ask what your name is?" he replied sweetly. "I'm Bee, its short for something... but it's embarrassing." I sheepishly answered. " Well, I would love to get to know the girl thats name shall not be revealed." He laughed. I smiled shyly back at him. " Hey love doves, I got a cuppa tea here that's getting cold!" The waitress loudly said to me. The man politely stepped out of the waitresses way. After she roughly placed my cup of tea on the table, I turned to find the singer gone. "He didn't even tell me his name..." I said to myself. I stalked back to my new dorm and flopped down on the bed, too tired to even put on pjs. All I could see were his gorgeous eyes framed by those thick dark eyelashes, until i fell asleep.
