Before you could blink, the shadow was gone. Your eyes snapped wide. This is too soon. You still want answers. You need answers. “No, NO! Come back!”

There's a soft knock on your door.

“(Y/N)? Uhm, it's Tobe-shit- Toby.” a few moments of silence. “Can I come in…?”

You stare at the door, you kind of thought Toby hated you after he blew up at you in text. You cleared your throat before answering, “Mhm, sure.”

“The door's locked.” Oh, right. You quickly unlock the door before stepping aside. He walked inside, his eyes setting on you. The silence was awkward as hell. “Did you- Did you read the let-letter yet?” What letter? You raise an eyebrow, cocking your head to the side.

You glance around absentmindedly, trying to recall what letter Toby’s talking about. You clocked it eventually. “The ‘for you’ one?” He nods. You haven't seen it, so you're pretty sure you put it somewhere you couldn't remember. “I think I lost it. Uh, what did it say?”

“Nothing. Don't worry.” He shrugged you off. He cleared his throat. “If you ev-ever need someone to- FUCK! Sorry. If you ever need someone to tal-alk to, I'm alw -shit- always here for you.” You smile, nodding your head.

“Thanks.”

“(YYYYY/NNNNNN)!!!!”

You get tackled into a hug, groaning at the heavyweight. “Hey… Nina…” You huffed out.

“Ben said you passed out and Jane came in, then she texted Cody to see if you were okay! Ben went to go get help but then Jane said while he was gone you woke up and started muttering in another language! Are you okay, (Y/N)!?! Please be okay!!!” She nuzzled her head to the side of your cheek, sounding like she was on the verge of tears.

Ben said you passed out…? No, that's not right. That's not what happened. Right? You couldn't remember. Why can't you remember? Why can't you ever remember?

Huske.

Placing your hands on Nina's shoulders, you gently pushed her back. “I'm fine.” She blinked, before she flushed, her thoughts running wild. ‘She's touching me!! She's so so so cute!!!’

“(Y/N)!” A familiar juvenile voice reached your ears. Sally ran up to you, jumping up until you finally picked her up. She cuddled up to you. For a kid who wants to be mature, she's pretty childish and clingy towards you.

“Hey Sal.” She held onto you firmly. This didn’t feel right. Nothing felt right. That shadow thing. You aren’t meant to be here.

“(Y/N)’s okay?” You freeze at the sound of that voice. Ben stood at the door, his eyes wide. “(Y/N)! You’re okay right? You passed out on me when we were playing Smash Bros.” Your hands tightened around Sally, and Ben noticed. His brows furrowed in concern. “(Y/N)...?” He walked closer. And you backed up. He stopped, looking between Nina, Toby and Sally before his gaze rested on you once more. “Uh, still angry that I beat you?” He jested, taking another step.

You were shaking. He was confused. What happened to you? Why did you keep backing away? Why were you so scared? Sally poked your cheek.

“(Y/…Yo…kay?” Everything was getting foggy, your limbs felt weak. You let your arms drop. Eventually, you fell back and you were only narrowly caught.

A deep, distorted voice spoke out to you. “Esne paratus, Lector? Z'algatoth aperit veritatem. Ipse est veritas.”

Sleep.

Sally quickly ran out of the room, going to get some help. Toby held his grip tight on you and Ben rushed to your side. Toby scowled, shifting you in his arms to put distance between you and the Link copy. The blonde frowned. “Ffff-fuck off. She wa-was scared of you for a rrr-eason.”
