Candace's POV
A few moments passed by and as we continued to dance, Xyla teleported with an entrance and Sophie came out in a black dress with a veil covering her face as the black energy blew the candles out, shaking the chandeliers, and darkening the ballroom while thunder clapped. The Evers gasped as they saw her while I trembled silently, "Oh no! Xyla's here for revenge!" Finn held me tightly like a teddy bear as I cuddled him back."How lovely to see your faces, future royals! Did you leave me uninvited? What a pity!" She chuckled. Everyone was so silent while I held Finn's hand tightly. "The cats got your tongues, eh? Tsk tsk tsk! Why so silent here, future royals, hm?" Xyla questioned us as I shivered with nervousness.
"Sophie, what happened to you?" Agatha questioned.
As she revealed her face, she looked like an old woman as if she aged too quickly. I hid my face and squeaked while I hugged Finn. Yikes! This is my new trauma now and I'm gonna have nightmares if I see her face like that!
Tedros was shocked, "My god!"
"Don't worry, Teddy! Should clear up by tomorrow. Try to look past it and not ruin our evening," she purred.
Sophie purred, "The Evers' ball! Here I am! You're taking me, remember? I surely will never forget it!"
"Sophie, please!" Agatha pleaded
She hissed, "Be quiet, Aggie! The protagonists are speaking! I'm still your date tonight, remember? Are you going back on your promise? Because bad things happen when the good breaks their promise!"
"There is no promise!" Tedros declared. "You betrayed me and I'm with Agatha!"
"No he is not!" Agatha begged.
Sophie hissed, "You liar!"
She used her blood magic as me and Finn backed away as he got his crossbow to shoot her while the Ever Boys got their swords out. She used her blood magic to burn the swords and caught the arrow, burning it.
"You know? I think I'm really getting the hang of this!" Sophie said while using her blood magic.
Agatha begged, "Sophie, please stop! Whatever happened, I can help you. I'm still your friend."
"No Agatha! You betrayed me along with him! You both are my nemeses which means our story can't end until one of us is destroyed!" She growled and crossed her arms
Xyla echoed, "Sure that you are the future heroes who are willing to get their happily ever after from their families! Well, you're wrong! It's the villains' turn now to get their happy ending! Right, Candace?" As she called out my name, the Evers gasped in shock. I approached my doppelgänger and I snarled, "Why don't you pick up somebody to give your happy ending instead of me? "What's the matter, darling? Are you giving up your dreams to become a ballerina?" Xyla taunted. I huffed, "I am not going to give up on my dreams but I will not give you a happy ending if you cheat!" She purred, "You better hand me over your happily ever after because a storm is here! See you at the School for Evil, little white swan!" Xyla cackled and left with Sophie.
Everyone murmured to check what's going on and Millicent questioned me, "Candace, why are you giving up on your happy ending?" "Xyla's right and she deserves her happy ending," I said grimly. Beatrix pipped, "But heroes are supposed to have their happy endings while the villains get defeated!" "Not everyone has their happy ending, Beatrix. Sometimes, there's tragedy and it's part of stories sometimes," I spoke firmly. As we entered the teachers' office, they were turned into dolls which was Sophie who did it.Kiko asked, "So that means the ball is canceled?"
"We have to stop them," Tedros declared.
Agatha begged, "No, don't hurt Sophie!"
