Y'sila and Kaede found themselves on the sun-drenched island of Thavnair, where they hoped to take a break from battle to enjoy a much-needed vacation. They couldn't help but stumble upon a new adventure, though, when Kaede spots a settlement unfamiliar to her.

"Svarna?" the tanned Xaela cocked her head in confusion. "This wasn't here before."

"Oh, you're familiar with Thavnair, then, Kae?"

"Aye, just for a bit of bodyguard work over in Radz-at-Han. The owner of the fabric store I was watching was kind enough to give me a tour of the island as part of my payment!"

"Ooh, that's remarkable!" Y'sila replied with much wonder. "I must admit, I'm a touch jealous!"

"There's no need to be jealous, Y's," Kaede smiled, stroking her friend behind the ears, "we're here together now, aren't we?"

Y'sila purred. "Y-yes, you're right! So, what do you think this place is, then?"

Kaede peered around the settlement, noticing a sizeable number of arkasodara...and hippos.

"Hmm, looks to be a sanctuary for hippos," said Kaede.

"H-hippos! How cute! Can we get a closer look, Kae? Please?"

Kaede, of course, couldn't resist her friend's joyous request. "'Course! Looks like tourists aren't barred from entry. Let's have a look around!"

Y'sila jumped for joy, and eagerly ran into Svarna. Kaede smirked and shook her head, before running after Y'sila. Suddenly, Kaede noticed a rather large arkasodara sprinting right in Y'sila's direction.

"C-clear the path!" the arkasodara yelled, attempting to screech to a halt before ramming directly into Y'sila. Unfortunately, the poor guy lost his balance and quickly fell forward.

"Wha--"

*SQUELCH*

Kaede winced as her friend vanished underneath the rotund fellow. She sighed, and slowly walked over to him.

"Are you quite alright, my friend?"

Kaede extended a hand to the fallen arkasodara. He looked up and chuckled, grabbing Kaede's hand for support.

"Ho ho...yes, I am quite alright," he sighed, "thank goodness I was able to stop before crushing you flat!"

"Uhh, yeah...about that..."

Kaede helped the man to his feet, revealing a very flat Y'sila pasted to his belly like a cheaply done tattoo. She wore a cross-eyed, grimaced expression. Her hands were pressed just below her head, as if she'd tried to stop the arkasodara from falling on top of her. Her legs were bent at the knees, making her bare soles face forward. Kaede couldn't help but smirk at the fate of her flat friend.

"You, um...have something stuck to your chest," Kaede giggled.

"Oh?" the arkasodara looked down to see the kitty decal pressed flat on his belly. "Oh my! Wherever did this piece of fabric come from?

The large fellow pinched Y'sila head between two fingers, and slowly peeled her away. Y'sila sounded like sticky tape being forcefully peeled from a hard surface. When she was fully peeled, the arkasodara tossed the poor kitty into the air, where she slowly wafted to the ground like a leaf. Kaede bent down and picked up her flattened friend, neatly folding her under her arm.

"Not to worry! I'm sure I can find a use for her...um, I mean, it!" Kaede laughed nervously.

Some time passed, and Y'sila had been restored to her normal shape.
