After a few seconds, Seraphiel finally stops sobbing and rises, her gray eyes, cold and full of venom, fixed on the ground as if she wanted to destroy it with her bare hands. Alucard steps beside her, watching her out of the corner of his eye without uttering a word. He knows that Seraphiel's anger is not something he can calm, especially not when she's in this state.

"Maari Ra vaor, Sekhmet! (Cursed be Ra and Sekhmet!)" the black-winged angel spits out at last, looking bitterly toward the forest, her eyes red and swollen from crying.

The ground trembles slightly beneath her feet, shaking the treetops, from which several deformed nocturnal creatures emerge, their eyes bloodshot and their mouths filled with sharp teeth.

Alucard swiftly draws his sword and releases it into the air. The weapon flies straight into the chest of one of the beasts, a kind of anthropomorphic ant, while a lizard-like creature lunges at him, trying to sink its teeth into his neck. The blond man swiftly knocks it down and delivers a solid blow to its stomach, making it cough up blood. In a swift motion, his blade slices through the green scaly body, embedding itself into the ground with a metallic hum.

The angel beats her wings with force, creating air vortices that shake the earth, and fully extends them, the shadow of her black feathers covering the clearing. With a roar of pure rage, she charges into the fray.

She topples a beast that looks like it was made of arms and legs slapped together in disarray and, without hesitation, rips one of the limbs off with her bare hands, shoving it into the beast's mouth as it tries to scream. The creature writhes as the woman crouches over it, transforming one of her feathers into a thin dagger, stabbing it over and over. So many times that Alucard loses count, though he can't help but notice she's attacking non-vital spots.

She's so enraged she just wants it to suffer. Her teeth are clenched, her pupils contracted to mere slits, and her mane of black hair shakes wildly as her clothes become stained with crimson droplets.

Alucard, for his part, barely moves. The creatures approaching him fall one by one, sliced into pieces by his sword before they can even comprehend what has happened, all while he watches the girl with a mix of sadness and surprise.

In the books he's read, angels are described as extremely dangerous beings, capable of causing great catastrophes without even blinking. One theory even suggests that angels can turn into world-destroying demons when enraged. And honestly, seeing her like this gives him chills.Another group of beasts rushes toward them, but she doesn't move. She raises her gaze, her feline eyes burning with blue light. She lifts a hand, and without rising from the creature writhing beneath her, a blinding light emanates from her fingers, incinerating the monsters in an instant. It's nothing more than a sigh of power, insignificant compared to what Alucard fears she might unleash.

The dhampir sits next to her, moving with the grace of a predator, and with an almost casual gesture, dispatches the last of the creatures trying to leap at them before retrieving the sword, which obediently flies into his hand.

"They're just insects," Alucard murmurs, cleaning the blood from his hands as if the act might relieve the tension in the air.

But Seraphiel doesn't respond. Her wings flutter violently, and in a burst of frustration, the ground trembles beneath her feet. She places a hand on the dying creature, which lets out one final scream of pain before bursting into flames under the angel's touch, while she looks on with indifference.
