What is a Pitch?

A pitch is a concise and compelling summary that writers use to promote their stories. On this platform, writers use pitches when entering their stories into the Wattys competition and the Wattpad Ongoing Originals program.

Pitches are crucial for capturing the attention of readers and judges, as they provide a brief overview of the story's concept, characters, and themes, enticing the audience to want to read more.

Please note: This is only for practice and is meant to inspire you and possibly get feedback from those in the same audience as you!

For today, we'll keep it simple:
We are looking for–

🌙A Title: Name this soon-to-be work-in-progress. It doesn't have to be final; you can even list a few potential titles.

🌙A summary of the story's main conflict: This will be a one to two-sentence summary of the story's main conflict. We want the who, the what, and the why!

We will come back for our main character description and setting later on!

Example–

🐺Title:

🐺Summary: After failing to secure a worthy Mate that her parents had found for her, Celeste runs away, unable to deal with further disappointing her controlling parents. During her escape to freedom, she accidentally stumbles onto foreign Pack lands, where she meets a brutal Alpha who is still searching for their Mate.

We have...

🌙The Who–Celeste, an unmated she-wolf.

🌙The What–Escaping from an unwanted relationship.

🌙The Why– To get away from her controlling parents.

Now it's your turn!

Leave your responses in the comments below, and don't forget to give others some helpful feedback! Happy Writing:)
