"Mum? Can I run to the bakery?"
"May I, Josephine."
The Teen rolls her eyes, "May I go to the bakery?"
Eleanor sighs, "Yes, Josephine. You may go. Is your phone charged?"
"Full battery. I won't be out late, promise." She responds before grabbing her coat and leaving her home. She calls a cab and makes her way to her favorite pastry shop."

Josephine stumbled upon the elegant, cozy bakery after a disagreement with her mother. It became a safe place for her to escape and work through her heart-wrenching thoughts.
"Good afternoon, Josie. Would you like your usual today?" Lily, the barista asks. The staff had grown fond of the Teen who's become a regular.
"Yes, please. Oh - I saw the sign on the door. You's are hiring?"
Lily smiles, "We are. Interested?"
Josephine shrugs her shoulder, "A bit. My Mum wouldn't be thrilled."
"I'm sure she would be proud. It's not often you see independent and mature kids your age."
The Teen gives a small smile. She knew she was independent and rarely relied on anyone, but she desired a childlike spirit. She desired to be loved.
