I can't believe my eyes, after all these years, here he is.

"Lamine, is that you?" I say with my eyes wide open, a thousand thoughts raced through my head. He smiles, oh how i missed him. Before I know it I jump in his arms, we stand there for some time just embracing each other.

After some time I finally left his embrace, "I can't believe your back, " he says when he starts to observe me critically. "Wow butterfly, I can't believe you're all grown up now, you look different." Butterfly, he gave me the nickname when we were little, when I was busy trying to catch butterflies while he was playing soccer on the grass field.

"No way you're saying that, look at you, you finally learned to take care of your curls." I ruffled his hair as he smiled at me, when he was little, his mom didn't know how to take care of his curls so he just cut everything off.

"I heard you're a pretty good footballer now, but of course I know better than to trust the media," i said playfully as i rolled my eyes. He laughed, "You should come watch me play sometime, you could go with gabby." Gabby?

"Who's Gabby?" I asked, he looked at me confused, "You don't remember her? We used to hang out with her all the time." Now it clicked, he means the girl who lived across from our street. She was always jealous of me hanging out so much with Lamine, guess her little fairytale came true after all.

"What, are you dating her or something?" I said playfully, rolling my eyes. "I do actually, its our 2 month anniversary soon." he said smiling. "Really? I'm so happy for you, well enough talking, come inside."

"Mom! Come downstairs, look who's here." I shouted to my mom, who was busy upstairs redecorating her room.

After my mom and Lamine also reunited, me and Lamine decided to just chill on the couch.

"Hey you know what, how about you go to practice with me, it'll be so fun and you can meet my teammates." He said.

"I'll only go if Gavi is there," I say playfully, Lamine puts a hand on his chest and acts fake hurt.

"And here I thought my bestfriend would miss me after all these years, training starts at 4 alright." He says dramatically, I laugh.

"Still the dramatic Lamine aren't you." I stood up.

"Alright time to go, I have to get ready."

Lamine stood up and hugged me goodbye, "Don't be late!" he shouted from the front door.
