Rhea's eyes fly open widely, her breath hitching as she wakes up from her sleep.
The girl quickly props herself to sit up from her sleeping bag, her heart racing and eyes wander around the tent in a panicked way.
She quickly came to the realisation that it was just a nightmare. Again. The girl exhales in a slight relief, quickly calming herself down. She rubs her eyes from sleep, noticing how sweaty her body is, mentally making her frown.
The Atlanta summer weather already almost being too hot for her, the nightmares not helping one bit. After a small moment Rhea glances beside her at the other sleeping bag, noticing that her dad wasn't there. Not suprising, she thought.
She sighs to herself, before hearing her stomach grumble. The sound of hungriness making her get up, standing up in the regular sized tent. She stretches her arms before leaning down to pick up her own belt from the tent ground and sliding it around her waist, buckling it before sliding on her baby blue sneakers. She starts to unzip the tent, the sunlight hitting her eyes, making Rhea squint her eyes.
She glances around, already feeling uncomfortably hot in the sun. Oh, how she hates the summer.
The girl looks around, her eyes spotting Carol with Sophia and Ed, also Lori by the campfire, but that's not what she's looking for. Rhea starts walking closer to the one spot, where she knows he's usually at. She can also see Dale on the roof of the RV, watching over the woods down the hill. She knew that Glenn, T-dog and a couple others were on a run to somewhere, so she didn't really worry for them. The girl silently make her way to the spot where he and her uncle are usually at.
Her eyes just spot her uncle sitting on a log, sharpening a hunting knife. A branch breaks under Rhea's shoes, making a soft sound. The sound making her uncle glance at her."Mornin' Ree." Her uncle just grumbles, his tone being light like always. It's almost annoying.
"Told ya not to call me that, Merle." Rhea mumbles. Making her uncle slightly chuckle. She makes her way closer to him, watching her feet not to stumble on any big rocks or branches.
"Where's dad?" She asks simply after a moment of just looking at what Merle's doing.
"Uh, went huntin' I think." Merle mumbles, clearly focusing on the knife on his hands."Ya 'think'?" Rhea says, a bit annoying mockery in her tone. She doesn't even know why she's being so annoyed, she doesn't even have a reason to find her dad. it's probably because she's hungry.
"I don't know, he just went somewhere a bit ago. Go eat or somethin', girl."
Rhea sighs, turning around without a word and starting to make her way to the campfire where Lori, Ed, Carol and Sophia are cooking something, probably fish. Rhea's getting sick of eating fish as it's basically been the only thing they've been eating for the past couple months, but her dad tells her to be grateful and take what you can get, so she's just sticking with it.The girl walks up to them by the campfire, making the blonde girl around her age look up at her.
"Hi, Sophia." Rhea says with a slight smile, trying to be nice. Her voice making the others glance at her. Also Sophia giving Rhea a small smile.
"Morning, sweetheart." Carol said to her with a warm smile.
Sweetheart. God, I don't like that.
Rhea thought with a small warm smile on her face as she gives a small nod in return."We're cooking some food. You want some?" Carol asks, pointing at the couple cooked fish on a plate.
"Yeah, sure." Rhea nods again. Carol gets up to slice some fish for the brunette little girl. Rhea patiently waits and watches Carol work on the piece of fish. She can see Ed from the side of her sight, the man almost looking like he's glaring at her. Rhea never understood what was up with Ed, he always seemed really mad and upset about everything. It made her a bit nervous.
