The air in the hospital was cold and thick. It was basically quiet in the emergency surgery waiting room except for all the sobbing and crying that was going on.
All I could do was cry. I've haven't been able to stop. Knowing that my little brother was shot and I wasn't there to protect him hurt my soul. Shawn and his boys went out looking for the boys that they think did it. I wanted to go too but they wouldn't let me. They said I was too emotional and I probably would've spazzed on them. Trey stayed at the hospital with me, my mom, and my sister. Mickey went to get something to drink for us. I called Brianna and she was on her way back. Joey's friend, Rico was here and so was his little girlfriend Nathalia. She was crying harder than I was.
It's been five hours since they took Joey back into surgery and we haven't heard anything yet. I texted Shawn but he didn't respond yet which had me worried.
"The family of Joey Carmichael?" A doctor came into the waiting room finally and asked for us.
"That's us." Jalina said since neither me or my mother could bring ourselves to speak.
"Hi, I'm Dr. Lathan Armstrong. I performed the surgery on Joey. It seems he was shot three times. Once in the back of the neck, and twice in the right shoulder. Your son is very lucky ma'am. If the bullet in his neck would've moved a inch further up it could've killed him." He said showing us x rays.
"So he's okay?" Trey asked, I was still unable to speak.
"Yes he is just fine. He's in recovery right now but he will be moved to a different room in the morning. We gave him some morphine so he's sleeping right now but you can go up two at a time to see him." He said then giving us his room number.
"Thank you so much Dr. Armstrong." my mother said shaking his hand before he walked away. After he told us my brother was going to survive I felt like I could breathe again. Slowly my heart slowed down and I texted Shawn to let him know what was going on.
My mom and sister went up to go see him but I asked Trey to take me home. He gave Nathalia a ride home too. But then I got a text from Shawn.
MyTab- Bae we got em. Chauncey taking them to the warehouse now. I'm coming to get you.
Me- Okay Trey taking me home now so Ima change and then we can go.
MyTab- Okay. I love you.
Me- I love you too.
I went in my house and jumped in the shower. I got out then put on a black sports bra and black girl boxers. Then I put on my black hoodie, black cargo pants, and black Tims. I pulled my hair into a ponytail and I pulled off all of my jewelry and put on my gold cross necklace.
When Shawn got there he blew the horn and I ran outside and got in the front seat of his all black 2014 Tahoe. In the back seat was his right hand man Dougy and his left hand Shock. Them niggas was ruthless as fuck. They didn't care about what they did to people and they fuck with Shawn the long way. They make sure don't nobody cross him and just like I love him I love them. Without them, Shawn probably would've been tooken away from me awhile back.
The whole car ride was silent except for the fact that Shawn was playing Chief Keef the whole ride.
About an hour later we pulled up to an abandoned building all the way out on the back streets of Baltimore.
