Mina and Kobbie had been best friends since before they could walk. Their mothers had grown up together, so when they both had children of the opposite gender at the same time, they were already planning the wedding.

However, both Mina and Kobbie claimed that they were only friends, but everyone around them could tell that they were in love. From sleeping on FaceTime together to Mina attending all of his football games, it was obvious that they were in love with each other, they were just too blind to see it.

With the winter approaching, most parks in the UK were hosting their annual fair, to which Mina and the rest of her friend group would be attending tonight. Mina sat at her vanity table, curling her hair whilst Kobbie was on FaceTime, admiring her natural beauty. "You should curl ur hair more often, it suits you."

"Thanks, I'll do it just for you." Mina winked at him before beginning to apply her makeup. The smile that crept up on Kobbie's face was unnoticeable, but the glint in his eyes gave him away, revealing just how much her playful words affected him.

The Birmingham girl had finished getting ready and was now waiting for Kobbie to pick her up. Once he arrived, she grabbed her Marc Jacob's Tote bag, and rushed out of the house, excitement bubbling inside her as she spotted him leaning casually against his car, grinning as she approached.

"Hey!" She greeted her best friend with a huge grin on her face.

"Hey, you ready to go?" He asked, before wrapping his arms around Mina, resting his chin on the top of her head, taking in the vanilla scented perfume she was wearing. He let go of her before entering the car again, driving off to have one of the best nights of his life.

The crisp air was already filled with the scent of hot chocolate and roasted chestnuts, setting the perfect atmosphere for a night of fun and laughter under twinkling lights. Colorful rides spun in the distance, and the sound of joyful screams and carnival music added to the festive energy, making the evening feel magical.

Mina and Kobbie were the first two from their friend group to arrive, so they made their way to grab a hot chocolate to warm their bodies up. Once the rest of their friend group arrived, the girls separated away from the boys, as the boys wanted to go on a scary ride, to which neither of the girls wanted to join in.

Instead, they all hopped onto the merry go round so that they could all catch up whilst doing something. As soon as the ride started, Mina's friends started questioning her about the friendship she had with Kobbie.

"You can't tell me that you have zero interest in Kobbie, it's just so obvious that you like each other." One of her friends spoke up, causing Mina to blush as she looked away, trying to hide her smile. "It's not like that," she mumbled, but the knowing looks on her friend's faces showed her that they weren't convinced at all.

She waited for her friends to speak up again, but they never did, so she admitting something she never thought she would do. "Okay fine, I do like him I guess, but I don't know if he even likes me back."

"Oh my God Mina, shut up." Her friend yelled out to her, causing Mina to furrow her eyebrows, confused as to why she was asked to stay quiet. "It's so obvious that he likes you, he invites you to all of his games, he can't go to sleep without saying goodnight to you and you're literally on his lock screen."

Mina took a moment to take in everything she just heard, wondering if it was true. The more she thought about it, the more she realised that Kobbie did in fact like her the way she liked him.

The group of girls got off the small ride and joined the guys again. The whole night, Mina was beside Kobbie, never leaving his sight, their laughter blending with the sounds of the fair as they engaged in conversation and shared jokes between them.

As the night progressed, their friends slowly made their way home, but Kobbie and Mina stayed, with her eager to ride the Ferris wheel. Kobbie chose to stay with her, happy to extend their time together. As they boarded the ride, the distance between them disappeared as Kobbie placed his arm around Mina's shoulder, drawn to the warmth of her beside him.

Mina leaned into him, feeling a mix of excitement and calmness as they settled into the gentle movement of the Ferris. "I'm glad we stayed," Kobbie murmured, glancing down at her with a smile.

Mina looked up, her cheeks warming as she met his gaze. "Me too," she whispered as their eyes lingered. The Ferris wheel reached the top, and for a moment it felt like they were the only two people left in the world. Kobbie gently moved a piece of hair from her face, his hand lingering, and in that quiet moment, he leaned in, closing the distance between them with a soft kiss.

Mina's heart fluttered as their lips met, the kiss soft and warm, sending shivers down her spine. When they finally pulled away, they were both smiling as a new sense of peace was formed between them, needing no words to be said.

"I guess that's one way to end the night," Mina teased, her eyes sparkling.

Kobbie chuckled, using his hand to move Mina's head onto his shoulders. "Only if it's the beginning of something new," he replied, as they both knew that their friendship had become something much more.
