My eyes opened, and I realized that I was obviously in a dream. My vision was blurry, and I was too tired to look around, but I could feel the presence of someone in the room.
I could tell it wasn't Hailee, and it probably wasn't our house mother, Canary. I could only hope that it was someone who wouldn't try something crazy, I was way too vulnerable to deal with anything at the moment.
It didn't take good vision to realize I realized I was lying down comfortably in the hospital, covered up by one too many sheets. With the way my body felt, it would be best if I just threw my arm over my face and went back to sleep."Hyaughhh!" The mystery man groaned from their throat. I could only assume it was a man, with how deep their voice sounded. "For the last time, old man, get out of the room!" Now that was the last voice I expected to hear. I hadn't gotten too familiar with it, but it was easy to recognize. That voice definitely belonged to Markus.
"I'll tell you when he wakes up, you don't need to be here right now! Doesn't Kile have anything for you to do?"
There he goes again, dropping the formalities. I wondered who he was talking to, and I began to think, did their presence bring them into my dream?
"I go as I please," the other person finally spoke. Their voice was sophisticated and sharp. Most of all, it was somehow familiar. It would give me a headache to figure out who that voice belonged to, but I definitely knew it from somewhere."And don't you dare address His Majesty in such a manner, you will learn to show him some respect. Do you hear me?!"
"Stop saying that! If Kile had a problem with me saying his name, he'd tell me."
"Well, I have taken it upon myself to tell you on his behalf. Respect his Majesty's title, or I'll make you suffer the consequences."
Suffer the consequences? While Markus definitely needs to learn some respect, who could this guy be to try and speak on His Majesty's behalf?
Maybe he was a shield, but that would be impossible. They had more to worry about than me being sleep from a friendly sparring match.
All of a sudden, I heard the door slam open, interrupting their banter.
Instantly, I felt Hailee's presence in the room, and she was filled with negative energy ready to burst. My body jolted as she raised her voice, "Can you two shut up!?" She yelled. "If you two weren't busy arguing, you would have noticed that Elif woke up!"
As I opened my eyes once again and lifted my head up, I looked over at Markus. After finally getting a good look at him, I noticed he was much cleaner than he was at school, letting his muscles flex out of black tank top.
He immediately met my gaze me with wide eyes of happiness, "So, you finally managed to pull through!"
I let out a chuckle that hurt my head, "Yea, you didn't kill me!"
Markus smiled, folded his arms, crossed his feet and, and put them on my bed, "Yea I knew I didn't kill you, I just thought you weren't gonna let yourself wake up."
Hailee walked over towards me and gave me a hug, "You should have woken up way sooner," She said with a smile. I noticed she was in her school clothes, and she most likely just got out and came here.
"Markus," Her voice became monotone, "Get your damn shoes off the bed," Markus immediately dropped his feet to the ground, "That's my bad."
His attitude couldn't help but scare me. He's just put me in a coma, and the first thing he did was smile at me after waking up, showing no pity nor pride.
