"Don't go away!" The smaller boy with the curly, black hair and grey-blue eyes said, looking at his older brother who had a little longer and a tiny bit straighter hair, but the same grey-bluish eyes, the younger one had teary eyes. Of course Sirius didn't want to go away, but nevertheless he had no choice.

Since he turned eleven and got his Hogwarts acceptance letter, the older brother knew he had to leave Regulus - his little brother - in that abusive, cold household.

He didn't want to, he really didn't, but no matter how much he wished for Regulus to come with him, there was no chance for that.

He hugged his brother a last time tightly and tried to put on the most reassuring smile - which sadly didn't even reach his eyes though - and then apparated to Kings Cross with his parents, leaving Regulus Black alone in the house with Kreacher the house elf.

When they arrived at the plattform where the train to Hogwarts would be starting, Sirius had big eyes, he was looking at the red locomotive and the many people, trying to figure out what to do.

His parents gave him a cold and dry goodbye and he reassured them he would be having a lot of fun before they vanished again, it was not quite unusual for Sirius to get a farewell like that.

So what bothered him a lot more was how Regulus would be doing at home with parents like theirs.

Normally he would've been there to protect his younger brother, but obviously this wasn't the case anymore and he felt really, really worried about that.

As he was about to enter the train, another boy bumped into him. "I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry!" The boy said and as Sirius turned around to have a look at him, he saw that the guy looked truly apologetic.

"Don't worry." He said quickly and helped the boy get in behind him.

"I'm James by the way. James Potter." The boy smiled and after Sirius introduced himself too it was like they silently agreed to become friends.

To their surprise they actually found an empty compartment about a few minutes later and sat down exhausted.

Now the black haired boy finally had time to take a proper look and he realized the guy in front of him was really pretty, but Sirius hadn't seen many people yet, especially not his age, so he didn't know if that was just normal.

James had black, messy hair and round glasses, his skin was rather fair - not as pale as Sirius' or Regulus' one but light - and his eyes were a shade of Hazel the boy had never seen before. Also, he didn't have as sharp features as the Black family had, he had soft ones, they really complemented him a lot.

He realized that his opposite-sitting had also looked at him quite intensely and a little ashamed he realized that his hair wasn't really brushed at all, it had gotten messy again.

He usually wouldn't care for that, his parents - of course - cared a lot but Sirius had always been the rather rebellious one so he loved all the things his parents hated, but right now he wanted to make a good first impression.

"So, are you going to Hogwarts for the first time, too?" James asked and he nodded. "What house do you think you're gonna be in? I'm hoping for Gryffindor! I heard our headmaster Dumbledore himself was in that house too!"

Sirius frightened, he hadn't expected to hear that.

"My parents want me to be in Slytherin...I'll probably be in Slytherin, my whole family was in that house." He murmured, James smiled nevertheless.

"Oh yeah? And in what house would you like to be in?"

Sirius felt a knot tighten in his stomach. "That...doesn't matter." He quickly said, trying to sound confident. But the truth was, it mattered to him more than anything.
