MIA SPRAWLED OUT ON PHARRELL'S couch in the studio her headphones halfway off as she scrolled through her phone

tiffany had just texted with a new opportunity a major one

as if on cue pharrell walked into the room carrying two smoothies as he handed one to her with a smile

mia smiled back taking the smoothie but still distracted by the message on her phone but pharrell noticed

"what's up?" pharrell said

mia hesitated biting her lip but she just went right in

"Scott Storch wants to work with me" mia said

pharrell raised his eyebrows slightly setting his smoothie down

"for your album?" pharrell said but mia shook her head

"no a different track just me and him.." mia said

pharrell's expression didn't change but mia knew him well enough to notice the flicker of something maybe concern pass across his face

"man that's dope scott's a legend It's a big deal" pharrell said carefully

mia smiled softly appreciating his support but she could sense the underlying tension

"aw your cool with it?" mia said

pharrell leaned against the console while crossing his arms

"yeah of course I just... I just don't want you to lose your sound you've built something special Be careful who you let shape it" pharrell said

mia heard the subtext he was worried about someone else influencing her music

and maybe just maybe he didn't love the idea of not being part of it
